Open Thread: Ducks vs. Trojans

USC Trojans at Oregon Ducks

Autzen Stadium

12:00 PT, TV: FSN

I hear that this game is pretty big.  I'll be here chatting it up, and I hope you will join me.  I know that the Chicago crew will be partying at Witt's, but if you're sitting on your couch, pull up your computer as well.

GO DUCKS!!!

Dave...
Do you not have a ticket to the game?

by cjohnso2 on Oct 26, 2007 8:22 PM PDT reply actions

I'm sorry to hear that...
You bleed green and yellow probably more than anyone, and very much deserve to be at Autzen Stadium tommorow for one of Oregon's biggest games in our program's history. If I had an extra ticket I would definitely give it to you, and will cheer extra loud for you. Thanks for doing such a great job with this site, it just goes to show how much you love the University of Oregon the Ducks. Keep up the good work.

Go Ducks!!!!!!!

Heads up
You should give us a heads up earlier in the week.  I knew of a couple of people that had extra tickets.  Gone now.

by jfwells on Oct 27, 2007 10:02 AM PDT up reply actions

Its okay
My son is too young to go to Autzen (5 mos.), and I've already spent two weekends in Eugene this year hardly seeing him all day.

This way I can still watch the game AND be with my wife and son.

Next year, I'll have no problem taking him to Autzen, though!

Thanks for the kind words
man, I'm missing my student tickets!

Its a rough first couple of years out of college.  I'll get season tickets as soon as I can realistically afford it (which basically means as soon as I can talk my wife into it).

Jones doubtful...
Well, it's been hinted at all week, and the final word is that Derrick Jones is out, maybe.  It wasn't clear if he has been reinstated, but word earlier this week was that because his injury kept him out of practice this week he wouldn't be able to play much even if he was reinstated.  Would have been nice to have another target for Dixon to throw to today.

could anyone educate me about the BS Kirk was saying about the "early start time" helping USC on defence? Isn't LA in the same time zone as Eugene?

Probably just needed
something to say positively about USC

by bradLL99 on Oct 27, 2007 9:56 AM PDT up reply actions

don't want to give them too much time...
...to dwell on the Oregon offense?

Beats me, but when did the Gameday crew ever come out with anything but drivel?

Here's to a good game that shows the best of the conference - and if Oregon wins, please take on the moral responsibility for beating UCLA, because in all seriousness the conference can't have them in the Rose Bowl.

GAME DAY !!!
I've been geeked for this game all week...and all season, for that matter. I want to see "Best of Chip Kelly" playcalling today. The Ducks will need all the trickeration and misdirection they can muster. Should be a whale of a game and here's hoping for some Autzen Magic at the end!

I'll be at Witt's with Nick, Brad and the crew. Enjoy the game.

I hate living here.

The stupid Blue Jackets are on FSN this afternoon - they had to change their start time to 5PM Eastern because Ohio State plays at 8.

Just another example of the Buckeyes screwing everything up for everyone else.

There's no way the Big Ten or Big East gets two.  I guess Hawaii gets one of the at-large bids, which leaves one up for grabs.

Maybe, MAYBE, the SEC gets two, especially if LSU loses the conference championship game.  But who in the ACC, Big XII or SEC is going to get an at-large?  Virginia?  Kansas?  Missouri?  Alabama?  Florida's about to lose to UGA, so they're done.

Looks to me like it's down to the loser of the Big XII championship game and the second place team in the Pac-10, barring some sort of LSU disaster.
