The duck has been banned?

I don't know if this has been brought up yet and I've missed it, or if I'm scoopin' y'all. It sounds like we'll be sans "Duck" for the Fresno State game.

I didn't get around to talking about this

When the fight happened, we didn't know if it was play or a real fight. After all, it is not uncommon for two mascots to get together before a game and stage this kind of thing (most Civil Wars, if its in Eugene, the Duck will beat up the Beaver, in Corvallis, vice versa). However, what happened here was that the Duck decided that he didn't like the Cougar doing pushups and decided to fight him. This was not staged.

The student who was the Duck that day has been suspended. But, because multiple students play the Duck, Kilkenny decided that a message needed to be sent. Because the public might not realize that the student was suspended, he decided to suspend the mascot altogether.

I don't really have a problem with it. If you are going to represent the University, you need to act with class, which is something that student failed to do. A message needs to be sent that this is not acceptable.

Duck did the right thing...

I think the Duck did the right thing...you mock our team in front of the student section, this is what you get. Besides it was mostly play, not like they tore off each others mask...thats when you know the play is over.
