Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

New 4-star recruit...or 2-star, depending on who you ask

LaMichael James committed to the Ducks today!  He's a dinky little dude at 5'9" and 180 lbs but he fashions himself as a Reggie Bush-like runner.  Rivals fancies him a 4-star RB while Scout fancy him a 2-star.  And ESPN rates him as an 80, on par with Darron Thomas and...Kelly Page?!  Regardless, we picked up some depth.  I figure to see him competing in 2009 to fill the JJ role.  I assume this was the verbal that Rickert referred to this morning.

Special Teamer?
With this guy's moves and speed, is it possible we could see him returning kicks and punts?

Yes x2
Andiel Brown/Keenan Howry type.

Texas
Another bonus is that this is our fourth recruit from Texas.  It's nice to see us expanding our reach in to other fertile recruiting grounds.

Love his tackle breaking ability
and the acceleration after bouncing off tackles, he does seem to run around the corners just a little backwards, which defenses like USC could catch up to... I'll take it as something that can get fixed.

Do we think we'll be using him for direct snaps, as in the clips? He reminds me a lot of McFadden. I like so far.

He would remind of McFadden
except McFadden's built like a horse while James is built like...well, like Keenan Howry.  It'll be interesting to see how he reacts to D-IA contact.  But as a PR/KR he does seem like he could be a gamer, something we're in need of.  I personally don't want to see Chung returning anymore kicks.  Made me nervous every single damn time.

You're right bout Run DMC
But he's running the same way, with a Jonathan Stewart-like power and determination during running.

And yes, we haven't had a good returner since the Junior year Andiel Brown. Before that, oh what a coincidence, Keenan Howry!
