Open "This player was a ________" Thread
In lieu of recent chatter about how players are in real life, here's a whole thread to let out what you know about our favorite (or non-favorite) players' personalities, i.e. J-Will being a pompous ass, or Blount being a humble but flamboyant clown. Anything you know or have heard, I'm sure many of us would find interesting. Did you have a class with a player? Get your haircut next to him at Kampus Barber? Share it here.
If you don't know anything, you are as useful and worthwhile as an 8 year old's skidmarks.

hhmmm - My "I'm a man, I'm 40" two cents
Not sure how I feel about this thread – I think it could be incredibly interesting, but then again, when I think how I acted when I was 17-21 . . . well, I’m just happy nobody cared enough about me to blog about my behavior. I think it’s one thing to criticize on field antics and another to criticize someone for how they act at school and parties. It would kind of make me feel like paparazzi.
But that’s just my opinion, maybe I’m making too much of it.
Okay Buttol
just because J-Will introduces himself as J-Will at parties does not mean he is a pompous ass. Maybe a little egotistical but an ass. He just has a bad ass nickname.
I tend to agree with Brad
Crimes are one thing, because they’re a matter of public record, and beyond normal stupidity, which is why I have no problem calling Eddie Pleasant an idiot, for example.
But something like “player so and so got drunk a puked at my frat”. That describes just about every college kid.
It’s a good idea, butthol. But I’m not sure that using a player’s personal life for our entertainment is a classy thing to do.

Sorry
I was just wondering curiously what people here know about our players personally… my bad.

Max Unger hates the Husky Marching Band
One of the perks of being in marching band is that we get to hang out in the tunnel during pregame. Before the UDub game, Max Unger “asked” us to “shut that stupid-ass purple band up.” Naturally, we shut that stupid-ass purple band up. Also, J-Will almost definitely prepares his pump up speeches for the tunnel before warm-ups. They’re way too good to be off the top of his head.
I support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.
How did you shut that stupid ass purple band up?
That’s pretty awesome.

Don't flame butthol for this thread...I'm the one who basically introduced it
I have met several athletes over several sports, including football. In addition, being a current student, I have heard rumors. I have also been a bit more privy to most, as my current situation allows me a little more access than most students receive.
There is not one student-athlete on the Oregon campus who I can honestly say I’ve had a negative experience with. You hear things, both good and bad, and you do occasionally get to see student-athletes in their natural environment (i.e. class—go ahead and make fun if you wish).
Now, I do feel that there is a social problem at Oregon where athletes are treated differently (unequally) than your regular college student. But that is for another time and place.
butthol, I’m sorry. You have a natural curiosity that’s understandable; I had it too as a HS student. If you want, e-mail me at Robmail2000 AT gmail DOT com.

Sorry Butthol
I didn’t want to sound like I was flaming, and I am interested in reading, I’m just not sure if it is fair.
There is a social problem at every university
You think athletes are treated unequally at UO? You should hear the stories about football players in the south, basketball players at places like UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, baseball at Baylor, Rice, among others.
Other than the really nice facilities (which every big university has, just UO’s happens to be "best") UO athletes are probably treated more fairly than most other schools.
Case and point: Went to high school with a football player to be unnamed at a school in the SEC to be unnamed. Heard through friends of his that the cheerleaders and dance team have a competition to see who can have sex with the most football players. If that isn’t unfair than I don’t know what is. They don’t even have to use alcohol or roofies. :-(

Jealous of UO or of the kid I went to high school with?
Because I’m definitely not jealous of UO, I was just making a point that Freeing Ray Schafer said that “…Oregon where athletes are treated differently (unequally) than your regular college student” and my point was that is at every school and that there are actually schools who are worse off than UO.
But yes, I’m insanely jealous of that kid. If only God would have gifted me with an athletic talent.. or any talent for that matter.

Well just remember you can get any girl, unless your way obese or have a ton of boils. Its all in how you present yourself. If you act like you dont care, then they will, but remember always lay the foundation first. lol
I heard...
Superman’s weakness is kryptonite. Blount laughed at superman for having a weakness.
It's spelled "S-h-u-f-a-i-l"
I saw J-Will at a basketball game
He’s huge
I had jazz history with J-Stew two years ago...
at least i think i did. He came to class twice.

somewhat outdated, but why not...
I had Writing 121 with Fred/Freddy Jones. The days we turned in our papers, we would do a “peer review” of each others’ work. He wrote so poorly that it was sometimes hard to tell what he was saying at all. His biggest problem was run-on sentences. It was like he thought “and” and a period were interchangeable, and he preferred “and.” I like to boast that I singlehandedly got us to the Elite 8 that year by keeping him eligible with my peer reviews. He was a really nice guy though.
They've gone to plaid!
