I cant get the game on TV because of broadcast coverage, so will there be anyway I could listen to the game on the radio on my computer

O-Zone

But you have to pay for it. If you can watch/want video, I would try justin.tv. Some guys on CGB mentioned a couple of people who stream the Cal games

Just getting ready for the pre-game tailgate, but wanted to stop over and say “Good Luck.” May it be a game without injury and may the better team win. And may that team be Cal.

Please disregard the above ramblings as those of a clearly delusional fan.

Game of the Year right here

If win, we’re probably Holiday Bowl-bound, and could even sneak into the Rose. If we lose, well, hello Las Vegas!

Ducks would need help

Either USC would have to lose a conference game, or make the National Title game.

But there is a lot of work left to run the table. (Knocks on wood)…

Huge game today. Winning 3 of the last 4 – or all 4 – would not only deliver a pretty decent season, it would set up nice momentum for next season when the schedule flips USC, ASU, Cal and OSU back to Autzen.

So Roper’s first throw over 10 yards is nearly an INT.
Masoli hasn’t been good at passing, but at least he can scramble away from pressure (Which has been big this game).

It's spelled "S-h-u-M-i-l-d-l-y-A-t-t-r-a-c-t-i-v-e"

by JShufelt on Nov 1, 2008 4:10 PM PDT up reply actions

Roper and Masoli are very similar in passing ability. I think Masoli has a better delivery, and Roper has a better release time. Masoli can at least run and avoid sacks.

but he can’t pull the trigger. He is tentative and when he does throw the ball, he has problems with reading the linebackers. I can appreciate that he can run to make plays but I don’t see how this is any different than having Chris Harper back there. At least with Roper, he seems to be able to make better reads.

We already have a great running game. I think Roper at least gives us a threat back there. Masoli gives us a threat for another runner but his passing is just not there

by dvieira on Nov 1, 2008 4:14 PM PDT up reply actions

But I haven’t seen anything from Roper that would support that argument. I am not Pro-Masoli, but I think Roper has no ability. He played horrible against Purdue. I want the best player in, and I don’t see Roper being any better. He has no ability to throw down field.

With that being said, this was by far Masoli’s worst game.

by teedawg on Nov 1, 2008 4:24 PM PDT up reply actions

D Thomas, I don’t really know why they aren’t putting in Thomas. I would assume he just doesn’t have “it” yet. I haven’t seen him enough to make a good call. Against BSU, he had an amazing ability at finding a target and lasering it to him, with no hesitation. But other than that, we haven’t really seen him play.

the replay showed him backpeddling along the sideline away from Masoli while he was scrambling out of bounds on the 4th down play. What about coming back to the QB. Stats are stats. But Williams is not an accomplished receiver in any way, shape or form.

Wtf?

Why the hell do we wait until the last 2 or 3 minutes of a game to try to throw it? We haven’t had a deep passing game all season long, and it’s killing us.

Masoli’s a great runner but he has problems seeing the field unless he’s on the move. Roper can throw but everyone knows that his lack of speed means he’ll never be a full-time starter in this system. We need to play Thomas and get him some experience. Plus everyone knows we don’t win in November, so I’m not pinning my hopes on a good bowl game right now.

Oh and nice drop J-Will! You’re 6-f***ing-5!!!!

I’m so frustrated right now. If my fantasy football team loses, I’ll probably just sleep until Tuesday…

i think roper should have taken over in the second half. oregons offense started clicking but it was literally all running every play and that isn’t sustainable.

by falseintellect on Nov 1, 2008 4:25 PM PDT reply actions

We try to rely on big plays from running. We aren’t very balanced this year, and we need a passing game. Roper is just as inept at passing as Masoli is. Neither really throw deep, and we need that.

I know we have gone back and forth about Roper/Masoli/Thomas for the whole season, but perhaps our receivers just aren’t doing all they need to do in getting open and actually catching balls. Obviously J-will has his issues but the rest of the crew? You just don’t see the same amount of drops from other teams…unless I’m just more sensitive to it…

Apparently the guy came into the field from out of bounds, made a catch, was flagged and then started taunting the cal sideline (and thus student section). I remember the flag but I didn’t notice the taunt so that’s most likely why the “23 is a bitch” thing came from
