Great Teams...

Star-divide

WARNING: This post may have objectionable content. Its also late as most of said content is based on the Stanfurd game.

1) I overheard someone leaving the game last Saturday saying something that was rather puzzling. The remark was "well, great teams find a way to win". I went ahead and assumed that he was talking about the game that had just transpired at Autzen as he was wearing a lot of Oregon attire and his friend had just commented on Oregon's narrow victory over Stanford.

I've heard this statement rear its ugly head from time to time; like after the Purdue game, Oklahoma from 2006... I have prepared another statement that makes a lot more sense. Great teams don't put themselves in situations where they have to come back in the last 2 minutes. Granted, it is fun to see and isn't easy to do, but I wouldn't necessarily award Oregon with great team status for such a showing. However, it would still be impossible to argue with the statement that Oregon is better than OSU (and consequently USC) because Oregon > Stanford > OSU > USC. Don't even try to dispute my reasoning, it is flawless.

2) Booing. Lots of people are pissed off about the booing. I'm still undecided. As fans, we couldn't very well cheer at some of the shenanigans that went down on Saturday because that could be misunderstood as a positive reinforcer. Contrary to popular belief, booing was probably the best thing we could have done last weekend to look good for the recruits. They probably said to themselves, "wow, these fans are actually paying attention to the game and providing the appropriate feedback" (I actually heard from a friend of a friend sitting next to the recruits that one of them actually said that, and all the other recruits agreed).

3) Lastly, this is how I feel when thinking about the new uniforms and how ugly they might be:

I actually do agree with your point 1.

I’ve said that for a long time. Good teams can come back, that’s always good to see… but great teams, like you said, are already providing a pummeling.

Your point 2 surprises me and I don’t believe it, but if you’d site somewhere that says recruits see booing and fan awareness in a positive light, it would not only reinforce your point, but it’d be a big relief to hear a recruit actually respond well to that.

3. I’m confident they will be fucking sweet.

"and providing the appropriate feedback"

color me skeptical that a recruit actually said that.

On the uni’s: I say the more outlandish the better, if the kids like-em we should have them.

i dont think he was being serious

about the recruit saying that.
Also, I dont think there are too many people out there who would call Oregon a great team, or even a good team.
When Booing is appropiate, boo away I say, boo away.

Ah I missed the joke

It’s lol cats all over again.

The booing issue is tricky, on the one hand I support people’s rights to buy a ticket for something to boo if it displeases. On the other hand if Booing is bad for recruiting it is counter productive, if we have head cases who think fans applaud sarcastically (Jwill don’t read that), what will booing do to them.

Ohhhh that's the Michigan game

His picture, I thought was from the Purdue game as he hasn’t had it for long. I knew yours was from the Michigan game, looked like you were having fun. Nice banana smile.

6 feet, and sensitive about my weight thank you very much ;)

That is weird though, Nico is about the same hight as me, but it looks like he’s leaning in and I’m standing up straight. I’m right next to Sarah which also helps me look taller.
