To early to start thinking about 2009?
There is a post/blog on Duck Sports News from Mosely that gives you his early 2 deep for next year. With 2 more games to go are we getting a little ahead of ourselves?
I am like everyone else in that I like looking towards the future and call me Debbie Downer but shouldn't we at least wait till the bowl game is finished before we start making predictions about next years squad. The only thing we are sure of is that alot of things are going to happen to current and possible incoming freshman to change the entire look of 2009's squad. Recruiting, draft, eligibility, and alterior motives are all going to play a role in who starts opening weekend. Plus the fact that once basketball season is over we are going to have ALL SUMMER to get ready.
What do my fellow winged warriors think?

Many readers had the same question as I, but he didn't answer
No mention of Nate Costa? What?

At this point...
We cannot count on Nate Costa at all……
I feel bad for the kid. He’s got a lot of rehab, and will most likely have to reinvent himself as a QB.

Yeah, I mean, he's had the worst luck of any athlete I've ever seen, in terms of injuries.
If he can’t come back as a dual-threat, I’m not so sure he’d want to have to return as strictly a pocket passer.
One thing did occur to me though, if he couldn’t return as a player… he’d be one helluva quarterbacks coach.

Mosely had a nice interview with him in his blog a while back...
Costa plans on returning, which I admire, seeing as he has torn the SAME ACL 3 times! I think that he has a lot to offer the team, especially since he was supposed to be the heir apparent to Dixon. I feel that from a personal aspect, I would HATE to see a guy who tried so hard make his life difficult for his out-of-football future. I can’t help but think that if he kept it up, he would be severely limping while walking by the time he gets to 30 years old. No one wants to see that. It would be more heartbreaking to see than his story already is.
May we hand you your taints on a silver platter...

After tearing the same ACL 3 times, he probably can't hurt himself in the long run more than he already has.
Go for it, baby.

Thats why I didn't mention his absense in the post.
Never know what is going to happen with his injury. I was a little suprised though that Roper was ahead of Thomas in the 2 deep. I think with another winter/summer and fall camp Thomas will not only be a backup but might just push Masoli for some playing time. I am assuming that if Costa comes back he will enter the QB race. I hope nothing but the beast for the kid, he has been through more than most athletes his age, but I think in terms of roster predictions for 2009 best keep him out till we know otherwise.

Thomas
I wonder if Moseley has some inside scoop on DT possibly redshirting next year?
I like the yellow helmets!

that is a possibility
We will have Masoli and if healthy Costa. Combined with Roper that is a good experienced 3 deep at QB. Why not Redshirt DT and be able to get 3 more years out of him.

I would be really disappointed
if the team was spending time on the subject.
We, as fans and media, though, can think about whatever strikes our fancy. I’ve been thinking about 2009 since before this year started, off and on. I think it’s interesting to think about. It’s not like Moseley was demanding that only that lineup play or anything. Just a reasonable rundown of who looks best to start if nothing changed between now and then.
They've gone to plaid!
