Beaking News: Ducks Repeat as Men's XC National Champs
First of all, yes, I meant to misspell "Breaking" in the headline. It's a little Duck pun. Get it?
Anyway, congratulations to the Oregon men's cross country team, and 2008 Olympian Galen Rupp. The Ducks repeated as team champions at the national meet in Terre Haute, Indiana. Rupp, who was one of four Ducks to compete at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, won the individual title.
The women's team finished second (although, unfortunately, behind the University of Washington).
Congratulations to both the men and women harriers from the mighty University of Oregon!

Booyah!
Go Ducks! Great way to kick off Civil War week! It shall continue with a band flag football win tomorrow!
I support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.
don't scare me like that!
all I could see in my rss reader was “Beaking news: Ducks re”
my mind automatically inserted “ceiver [insert name][did something bad]” for whatever the rest of the headline was.
given the real news though, congrats duck runners! It’s great to see us back at the top of distance running. I hope we can beat those Fuskie women next year as well.
They've gone to plaid!
No wonder Washington won
Apparently the route for the competition led them AWAY from the Husky Stadium ticket booth

Great day to be Gael
Iona college 2nd behind Oregon for 2nd straigh year…hmmm, too bad I’m not an XC groupie or I’d be in heaven
"Beaking [sic]" would suffice
But yay guys! Good on you, Galen and co.
Alright time's up lez do this...
Before the race started the announcer said about Galen...
“see the O on his chest? It stands for the number of National Championships he has won…” (paraphrased, probably poorly).
I knew when he said that, that Galen was going to win the race. I have been extremely chafed at the lack of respect, and the sentiments of unfulfilled promise expressed by fans and the media in regards to him. This win was deserved.
I think that any of the public’s disappointment in Rupp to this point has been largely because he was expected to be the second coming of PRE (eg. “STOP PRE” shirts at the trials), and when he didn’t win every single race people got their panties in a bunch. I am extremely happy to see Galen get this win. I sincerely hope that Galen is able to go from here, and have a great career.
I heart taxes.
