Jeremy Jacob Signs LOI to play at Oregon
Rated 3 stars by Rivals, Jeremy Jacob is a JC transfer from Georgia where he had a medical redshirt last year. Rumor on the street that Jacob is a "diamond in the rough" and could see some good time with Oregon at the power forward spot. Having another 6'8" guy out there certainly wouldn't hurt.

That's a big forward for our standards lately.
Nice pickup, hope he can contribute.
Alright time's up lez do this...
Don't know how redshirts work
Does that mean he plays this year and starts conference with oregon or waits until next year to play.
Redshirt is a term used for a player that sits out a year and doesn’t play, but can practice and travel with the team. If he is on the field during any snap or kickoff at any time during the season, the player is ineligible for a “redshirt”.
In this case, it was a medical redshirt, which is slightly different.
Essentially, if a player gets hurt during the first half of the season, and is required to sit out the remaining games due to that injury, the team can file for what many call a “medical redshirt”, which would let the player retain his eligibility.
In other words, a true freshman student athlete has 5 years to compete and complete 4 years.
It's spelled "S-h-u-p-o-o-p-i".
