Open Thread: Oregon vs. (7) Texas @ Maui Invitational
Time: 1:30 p.m. PST (approximately)
Place: Lahaina Civic Center in Lahaina, Hawaii
Telecast: ESPN2
The Oregon Men's Basketball Team is continuing on in the EA Sports Maui Invitational playing against #8 Texas. Even though the Ducks suffered a tough loss against the #1 team in the nation last night, flashes of great play are there. The team is young, no doubt about it and the experience of playing these teams early in the season will prove valuable when Pac-10 play opens up in January. Texas is a challenging team and should be an interesting game from a player development standpoint.

that’s what she said?
It's spelled "M-A-R-C-H-I-N-G-B-A-N-D."
I support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.

How is TP still starting?
His shot wont fall. His doesn’t pass, I heard that was a good thing for PG to do. He cant guard the shot, we they drive our bigs have to help and then cant rebound. Bring him off the bench and let him try to recapture some freshman year magic. If he starts producing again bring him back.

7/18 from the free throw line in the game to this point. It is easy to point to free throws as issues but i we just made 5 more of those free throws, we are down by 6 instead of down by 11

Balance
The thing about Texas is that 8 of their 10 players have scored in the game. We’ve had only 5 people score. Dunigan continues to be the real deal. If he wasn’t in there, we would be down by 40. I really hope he sticks around for the duration. If we can get him a consistent outside threat, look out. With our shooting woes, it will be fairly difficult to play that angle up.

Attitude
I like that the team on the floor, who ever it be, keeps grinding it out and fighting. We are obviously over matched, especially on the boards, but there is no give up in this team. I was unable to watch last night so I don’t know if the same can be said. Its encouraging to see though.

Stat of the tourney
Tajuan Porter: 7 for 26 (27%) from the 3-point-line.
He’s now 14 for 42 (33) on the season. He shot 36 last year and 44% his Freshman year. Maybe moving the arc back is hurting him after all.

shot selection?
That has hurt him as well.

Actually, here's the real stat of the tourney...
Rebounds:
- Oregon – 88
- Opponents – 129
In three games, they’re losing the boards battle by 13 on average. Ouch.

Mike
Wasn’t able to watch the game. Does anyone know why Dunigan only played 18 minutes?
