Beaver Fans are very touchy
I just rendered an honest and perhaps blunt, but not profane post on "building the dam" and have just been informed that I have been blocked from their blog? I've never heard of such a thing.
I simply reminded them of some of the comments they had been making before the game (one that very blog) and pointed out why they should feel a little silly now that the game has been played.
As someone new to blogs in general, what's the deal? Anyone?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or the Addicted To Quack Moderators. FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable Oregon fans.

Curious
Can you see who warned me? I’d be curious to know which story I made up about CV. I also wouldn’t mind discussing what gives that person the right to question my “honor” as a Marine.

Well...
As admin, you can see warnings on any member of ATQ, and why they were warned, and by who, on any SBNation site.
That is all I well say.

Warned
I didn’t read your post yet, but I went on BtD earlier and was officially “warned”. It said I made up stories about someone there. I think they were referring to a post I made on ATQ. They proceeded, in the warning, to refer to the fact that I’m a Marine so I should have enough “honor” to not make stories up about people. I was about to try to contact someone about it because I did NOT make up any stories, AND the post wasn’t even on BtD. They are going to ban me for something I said ON ANOTHER BLOG? Sigh. This is getting a little out of hand.

We don't have to talk crap...
Because facts win out…
In one of the biggest games of the last 10 years of OSU football…up there with the 2000 Civil War, the OSU Beavers gave up 694 total yards and 65 points, and were thoroughly dominated.
That is all that needs to be said.

I could understand your confusion, because you don’t follow Cal sports as well as I do. Fair enough.
TwistNHook is the name of the “Lynch family gang symbol” that they use in celebration. Put the thumb out and wrap the ring finger behind the index finger. To wit:

That is Lynch with, I believe Robert Jordan, his cousin, who also played for Cal and was briefly on the Niners and SI writer michael silver (who attended Cal). Silver looks SO white!

In Jake's defense
He was warning everyone. That post that CV had really lit a fire that turned into an inferno.
Hell, I even got warned. I think he was trying to send a message, that’s all. Jake is smart; he knows who the good posters and the bad posters are (insert CV3000 comment here lol) and wouldn’t really ban someone unless it was deserved. My guess is if you do get banned, he will answer any question with a solid explanation and I’m sure things will get handled

Hey guys
I’ll be honest, and I think I’ve said this before: There’s not really enough time in my day for me to frequent AtQ. I try, but it usually just doesn’t happen.
Thanks for putting up with me… I’ve started my blog four years ago and 3-4 people read it per day for a long long time. I’ve stuck with it, made some good decisions, made some bad decisions and took some risks.
Perhaps I made some wrong decisions in taking action against some of you the past few days. I’ve seen what successful blog communities look like, and in most cases, they exist without profanity, etc. I try to let as much fly as possible on BtD, but in the grand scheme of things, my parents read the site, as do my grandparents and a lot of other people I interact with everyday, and I want the entire site to be as positive as a place as possible. Something myself and other college football fans can be proud of. I don’t want to sound like I’m trying to limit what you can say over there, I just think in most cases it is unnecessary.
I was a bit harsh against users such as “suckmyduck” who registered after the Civil War to make a comment on Building the Dam. It would have been a different story if you had gone to AtQ first to celebrate, or been a user for awhile, but the fact that you came to BtD first to post didn’t sit well with me. Besides, how am I supposed to know what you’re like if you sign up with the username “Suckmyduck” in the wake of a CW victory and start going off? Might have been aggressive, but I didn’t feel it was necessary.
That being said, I’ve got a lot of work left to do on BtD. This season has seen insurmountable growth for my site, but I’ve started to pick up some baggage in the process. Bear with me.
And great win yesterday, Ducks. I was running on Autzen last year, you guys did it this year.
I’ll try to make it back to this thread tonight to respond to your comments. Thanks.

BtD
I really enjoy reading stuff on BtD. VD, RVM, you and most all the others are awesome. I do have a coupld of questions I hope you might be able to answer. Maybe we should take it offline, and if so let me know and I’ll email you:
1. Can you tell me who issued me the warning on BtD? After reading your post above, I’m going to assume that it wasn’t you because I was warned for something that I wrote on AtQ, not on BtD. Which leads me to…
2. Would you ban someone from your site for something they said on another blog? Another website? In an email? In a conversation?
If you want to take the conversation offline, I’m okay with that. I’m posting the questions here because I think others can benefit from the answer question 2.
Thanks, Jake. I’ll continue to frequent BtD until you kick me out of there!

“ABIDE” works better for Dude than Walter. If it’s Walter it doesn’t make as much sense… at least to me.

That's true.
I couldn’t really read the bottom text anyway. Thanks.

Arby has it right … it’s the Dude. The avatar is modeled after the Obey Giant graphic, created by a young designer here in LA about 10 years ago, and which sort of spread like an Internet meme.
Too much information, I know. In any case, bruins are disease-ridden skanks. When playing with one be sure to use a trojan.

Ba-Zing indeed....
Right now, Ucla is my favorite team. I don’t think we deserve the Rose Bowl but I would LOOOOOVE to see how screwy things would get if the Bruins were able to upset the Love-Gloves of USC. Think of the fun, argument filled posts we’d have to discuss on here?
It would be maaaaaad. I mean, complete bowl chaos and in a way a great opportunity to expose the flaws of the PAC 10 bowl agreements for the future commish.
Anyway, a boy can dream, right?

Guilty of joining BTD after the game.
Jake, thanks for your posts. It you had been the first BTD writer I had encountered rather than CV 3000, I wouldnt have joined just to respond to the “Lets laugh at them” post.
My post wasnt rude or condesending and I couldnt understand why I had been banned. Now I understand. Your reasoned explanation has restored my respect for “true” beaver fans.
The sad thing that CV doesnt understand is that he is doing far more harm than good. Rather than fostering good natured banter, his disrespectful comments create an atmosphere that more closely resembles true hatered. I think he needs professional help. Really.
Thanks again Jake

This post could also have been titled Fans of Beavers are very touchy.
Please disregard the above ramblings as those of a clearly delusional fan.

It's spelled "M-A-R-C-H-I-N-G-B-A-N-D."
I support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.
