Stay Classy Duck Fans!

It is a lot of fun to: trash talk, make fun of people/football teams, rub salt in wounds (not literally), take revenge ect...
However, lets be classy and give our rivals a little break. I wouldn't do it with hopes they'll return the favor but consider this; in terms of rivals, I'm glad we've got the Beavers. They are tough competition and I'm proud of what they've accomplished this year. Every other school in the Pac-10 suffered a defeat by either Oregon or Oregon state. That's a lot more than can be said by those in states like Washington or Arizona, states many would argue should have superior football programs due to population ect...
An intense rivialry usually occurs between two good teams. I'm not aruging whether or not UW is a bigger rival than OSU but I am saying I heard zero trash talk from Washington this year (and that was before they knew how bad they were and still had Locker).
So Ducks, send a compliment to the Beavers because they are legit. A loss by USC this weekend, however unlikely, would split the conference championship 3 ways. It doesn't suprise me that the Trojans Beavers and Ducks are at the top of the Pac-10. Even though I'd be even happier if the Ducks had won outright, the next best thing would have been for the Beavers to take it over SC.

Thanks for the kind words, Delta.
Like I said, great win, but I think this has all been built up way too much, in my opinion. I’d be saying the same thing even I was on the other side of Saturday’s game. Thanks for putting it in perspective.
It sort of all hit home for me when I was standing outside the gates of Reser before the game, watching players (Ducks and Beavs) stroll down to the stadium to check out the turf, etc. College sports are a big deal, do doubt at all, but these players are just kids…. and I think we need to remember that.
Perhaps that’s a feeble way to look at it, but I don’t know. Just my opinion.

I second that.
There are douche bag fans on either side. I find it is best to take a step back, try not to say anything I wouldn’t want said to me and let the bad fans find each other— they always seem to.

If we get out of control, we’re no better than the person(s) we constantly complain about.

I would just like to say...
And this has nothing to do with the Duck fans, but I was impressed with how classy the Oregon players won this game. It almost makes the loss easier to swallow. When they were out warming up with the white jerseys, white pants, and green helmet (very classic look, despite the bells and whistles), I told my friend that I expected them to come out of the locker room in the camo’s that we’ve been hearing about or some other crazy concoction. They didn’t. They stayed in the classic Oregon look. It wasn’t about flash or glamor, and that impressed me.
Also, while they did the whole wilted rose thing, they didn’t do it to our fans. They all congregated to the center of the field as a team, and I expected a battle to happen. I expected them to start jumping up and down and making gestures to the crowd. This didn’t happen. They met up as a team, and then ran over to the UO fans to celebrate. It was one of the classiest ways to celebrate a victory this monumental at someone else’s stadium. And this all in what sometimes can be considered a very un-classy rivalry.
I support takimoto in his effort to support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.
