Drew Davis out for year (torn ACL)
As if the season couldn't get any worse...Davis had somewhat of a breakthrough game against Stanford, but apparently he tore his anterior cruciate ligament at some point during the game. John Hunt (The O) and Rob Moseley (The RG) are on the case.
As far as Drew's development, this is a pretty crushing blow. He was used sparingly as a true freshman and didn't seem to get any more looks his way in the spring. This season, he hasn't done much, but it's not by accident that he earned his first career start against the Cardinal.
Ideally, he's fully ready for the fall, but this certainly deflates whatever morale we had coming out of that game.

Ugh...More JWill
And I was really enjoying the break.
It will certainly give him another opportunity. He doesn’t have a whole lot of time left to leave a more positive mark on the program. For all the crap we give him, he does rank up there with the other great receivers in Oregon history…at least as far as yards go. Here’s to hoping he can turn it around and be a leader on the field as much as he is a leader off of it.

There is something cursed about the number 10, I swear...
I saw him go off. It was on the ball he dropped in the endzone, he fell awkwardly. It looked like a sprained ankle or something.
This is terrible. I really feel for Drew, he was one of my new favorites.

“As if this season couldn’t get any worse”?
Yeah, actually it could get miles and miles worse.
This kind of nonsensical negativity has been the worst part of this season.

Couldn’t have said it better

I'm not trying to throw the kids under the bus
I’m trying to convey the sense that injuries significantly dampen the team’s ability to play well. Sorry that you have to take it so personally, and maybe it’s too liberal of an expression, but if you take that much offense to that remark we’re back to square one.

I don’t think he (or I for that matter) are taking offense to the remark. I think it represents a view of the season that many Oregon fan share of how this season has gone. The Oregon Ducks football program is 7-3, having a pretty good year for the most part. Yet the general perception that most seem to have is that we are mediocre at best, especially among our own fan base.
I can’t speak for Nevaduck, but the only thing “bad” about this season for me has been dealing with fans saying to fire Bellotti and that our team sucks. We’ve only lost to the best team in the conference (USC), another top tier school in the conference (Cal) and a team that is leading their division and will probably go to a BCS game (Boise State).
It does suck to lose Drew for the last two games of the season plus the Bowl. No one wants anyone to get injured. Thankfully we haven’t had as bad of a year as we had last year.

I, for one, love that 7-3 is now a disappointment
It means we’re to the point as a program where a BCS bowl should be the goal year in, year out. 7-3, meh sure we probably could be 9-1, but we could be 6-4 or even 5-5 if things in the UCLA game got weirder. At least the band is excited that our likely bowl destinations are San Diego or Las Vegas.
From an injury standpoint, we’re probably one of the healthiest teams in the country.
I support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.
I will write the Bowl Committee and ask them to re-establish the Seattle Bowl, preferably moved to Pullman per request of the band. ;)

no
bad, no don’t do it.
totally agree with takimoto (actually i was going to write that same post but was too un-sober). We are on the doorstep of becoming a big time program and it is awesome.
Ducks Go!
Maybe he got hurt because of the kind of offense we run
I kid, I kid.
