Motor City Bowl: Florida Atlantic vs. Central Michigan

Wheeee, big feathers!  Regardless of the plumes on steroids, I really like FAU's look.  The red sash amongst all the white and blue pops. 

WINNER: FAU

Meineke Car Care Bowl: West Virginia vs. North Carolina

West Virginia's uniform looks much more pu together.  UNC could do well with some pants piping and a little more navy blue in the top to tie everything together.  West Virginia looks pretty BA, as far as wearing helmety shakos and big ass plumes goes.

WINNER: WEST VIRGINIA

Champs Sports Bowl: Wisconsin vs. Florida State

Wisconsin suffers from the same problem as North Carolina.  While I love dark pants as opposed to white, you then need some dark in the top or some color in the pants via piping to tie the look together.  It's the same reason why I don't like the New York Giants road uniforms.

WINNER: FLORIDA STATE

Emerald Bowl: California (back view) vs. Miami

Now, normally I'd be biased for Cal, since I'm from Berkeley, my dad works at Cal, both my parents went to Cal, and my girlfriend was in the Cal Band and is now on the dance team.  But Miami's uniforms are so gawd-awful I don't even have to be biased.

WINNER: CAL

Independence Bowl: Northern Illinois vs. Louisiana Tech

Man, Louisiana Tech does not like taking pictures of their band and posting them on the Interwebs.  From a distance, they look like they could be cool.  I like NIU's chest logo, and all there's red black and white on everything!  It's a matching uniform, hooray!

WINNER: NIU

Papajohns.com Bowl: NC State vs. Rutgers

Please note: this is not the Papa John's Bowl.  It's the Papajohns.com Bowl.  Thank you.  NC State's hat > Rutger's helmets.  Yes, I'm fully aware that they're the Scarlet Knights.  But why aren't the band's plumes red?  Innacuracies like this lose bowl games.           

WINNER: NC STATE

Valero Alamo Bowl: Missouri vs. Northwestern

Northwestern has one of the most plain uniforms I've ever seen.  It's...boring.  It's not bad, just...boring.  Missouri's on the other hand is a nice look.

WINNER: MISSOURI

Roady's Humanitarian Bowl: Maryland vs. Nevada

Maryland is another band suffering from plain black pants syndrome (PBPS from here on out), but Nevada just looks like lots of solid navy, and little else.  Meh.  I think using the Maryland state flag, arguably the coolest state flag, as pants piping would be sick.

WINNER: MARYLAND

Texas Bowl: Rice vs. Western Michigan

Rice calls themselves the M.O.B, for Marching Owl Band.  They're also a scatter band, meaning they don't march (think Stanfurd).  Huh?  Like their name, they wear mafia suits on the field.  I'm all for thinking outside the box, but...

WINNER: WESTERN MICHIGAN

Pacific Life Holiday Bowl: Oklahoma State vs. Oregon (also with green hats, yellow hats, green hats and puffy vests, blacked out, and wearing OS's custom design)

Okay, first of all.  They have cowboy hats.  Yes, their mascot is the Cowboys but the fact of the matter is they are wearing cowboy hats.  The other fact of the matter is is that we wore a different hat in every quarter of the Civil War.  Our uniforms are Nike Dri-Fit, they're the most comfortable marching band uniform the world has ever seen, and it looks really cool when we turn around (about 0:32).  Thanks Uncle Phil!!!

WINNER: OREGON.  CLEARLY.

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl: Houston vs. Air Force

Holy moly that's a lotta red!

WINNER: AIR FORCE

Brut Sun Bowl: Oregon State vs. Pittsburgh

On the one hand, it's the Beavs.  Their band is nothing but classy and I have great respect for them, but it's still an orange and black uniform with a big stupid beaver on it.  Ick.  But I really don't like Pitt's uniforms much either.  Not a fan of the jacket design, the gold shako's overkill.  More Ick.  Looking past the stupid beaver, I give OSU the edge.

WINNER: OREGON STATE

Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl: Vanderbilt vs. Boston College

Nothing wrong with either band, Vanderbilt was fortunate to have the classier color scheme.  I feel like the black and white really pops more than the uber-crimson/burgandy/whatever color it is.  Vandy's is one of my favorite uniforms so far.

WINNER: VANDERBILT

Insight Bowl: Kansas vs. Minnesota

Yeesh.  Kansas is stricken with PBPS, and a black shako to go with it.  Red, white, and blue jacket, black lid black pants. Hmmm.  Then there's Minnesota.  The Minnesota "V": old school, and looks cool in large groups.  I'm concerned with these shoulder curtain-looking things however.  Yellow and white pants striping to match the cuffs might be nice too.  Overall, the look is still better than the hodgepodge that is Kansas.

WINNER: MINNESOTA

Chick-fil-a Bowl: LSU vs. Georgia Tech

Hoo boy that's a lotta white on GT.  I'd love to know more about LSU's uniform, because there's gotta be a story behind that jacket design.  I don't dislike Georgia Tech's look, LSU's is just one of my favorites

WINNER: LSU
