The 12 Days of Duckmas: Day 9
In keeping with the Holiday Season, I would like to present a series called "The 12 Days of Duckmas", counting down 12 of the best moments from Oregon Duck Athletics in 2008. This isn't meant to be a comprehensive list by any means and is certainly not in order of importance. If anything is left out, the 13th day will be for finishing up the leftovers, taking back the unwanted gifts and spending those giftcards.
Now remember to sing along now...
On the 9th day of Duckmas, Uncle Phil gave to me...
a way to turn out the lights on other teams Phil Knight alluded to a new uniform being in the works but were we in for a surprise. Whether you loved them or hated them, the Ducks made a huge splash against Arizona wearing the "Lights Out" gear, throwing up 45 points in the first half of the game. The Arizona game gave Duck fans something they had been looking for all season, a feeling that our offense had finally come together. After Masoli led the comeback against Stanford, many pointed to how all great Oregon QBs have that "signature win" that sets them off. For the end of the 2008 season, the momentum train had started. From Masoli's 66 yard scamper to Blount's 40 yard run to seal it, the final 2008 home game conjured up memories of the special season of 2007. The only downside? We are still waiting for Duck4Lif3 to give us that brick he was referring to since this was a game too late for his promise |

on another note
the black helmets dont look as good with the diamond plating unis…. i think the green on the shoulder pads mess it up
(seen before kickoff of arizona game then the players go back into locker room to find the winged unis)

Interesting Poll Results
I’ve often wondered how these results would turn out given the win in that game. For instance, the yellow helmets are demonized by a lot of folks, probably having a lot to do with the game they were introduced. If Oregon went out and lost this Arizona game, do you think people would still overwhelmingly like them?

it's an interesting question
i like them because they look way better than the grellows, and honestly look less ridiculous than the diamond plating, which has nothing to do with a duck whatsoever. i was really hoping for the wings in a white jersey at civil war, but alas. Even if we were winning in the grellows I’d think they look stupid. At least I think I would.

From an outsider perspective
The black on black on black looked sick, I just can’t get over the wings.
My favorite combo is the uni’s the Ducks wore for the Civil War. White pants, white jerseys, green helmets. Very, dare I say, “normal”

I'm not sure the black socks/shoes worked though.
Green on white on white on white would’ve been better (Michigan game ’07 combo.)
Of course my favorite is the stormtroopers, but if I had to pick another combo, it’d be the white on white on green on white (Purdue ’08, UCLA ’07.)

It disgusts me that you guys know your combos like that
And what games they were played. The Oregon Institute of Fashion and Technology (OIFT) if what I will referring to your football team as… for example
As disgusted as I was, I picked OIFT over Oklahoma State in the Holiday Bowl, with a confidence level of 20

he does have a point. It does take some of the “manliness” out of remembering certain games when you remember what we were wearing that day.
But I do it too unfortunately. I guess it comes with the territory

Well, then, how come I see you here, mocking my most cherished meme. Nailed It and I go way back until at least the classic summer of 2008. It was a simpler time when a young Taylor Swift was teaching America to love again.
The California Golden Blogs and Addicted To Quack have had a cherished bond over these many months. I would hate to see a few bad apples ruin that. You have brought shame to your J-beinitialed brethren.
