A West Coast Biased BCS Bowl: The Eh? Bowl

I originally posted this over at Cal Golden Blogs. My idea is to create a new BCS bowl to be played in Vancouver, B.C.'s new BC Place indoor stadium (seats 60k). This would be a football/winter sports fans paradise. The game itself would take a second place Pac-10 team ranked in the Top 16 of the BCS vs. the highest BCS ranked Mtn West/Wac team (that's also in the BCS Top 16). In the even that this doesn't happen, one of the spots will be an at-large bid and awarded to a Top 16 team. I post this here because Oregon, from a retrospective sense, would have played in this bowl a few of the years. Please feel free to comment here or there! I welcome comments and critiques.

I really like this. Sounds like lots of fun. Couv’s a really nice place too.

The only thing that makes me wary of this is the memory of the Seattle Bowl…

Do 3rd Place Pac-10 team

against WAC/Mountain West Champion. Then give the Vegas bowl the other WAC/Mountain West Champion. So this season it would be Boise State vs. Oregon State in Vancouver, and Arizona vs TCU in Vegas.

sorry but this is a silly idea

There is no way the BCS would create another Bowl and have a Second place tie in. The Pac 10 already has a bowl tie in for the Champion same as everyone else. For the much disrespected Pac 10 have their second place team as the tie in would never go while the second place teams from the SEC and Big 12 have to be selected as at large teams. the Mountain West champ plays in the Vegas Bowl and has given the 4th team from the Pac 10 plenty of trouble already including Oregon. so now we give them the chance to embarrass the second place team like Utah just did Alabama??
