From this week’s Sports Illustrated…nice story on last weekend’s rivalry games, highlighted by the Civil War.

"I think people in this state like BOTH teams," proclaims Nick Aliotti, the Ducks' defensive coordinator. "Except for our hard-core fans, I don't think most Duck fans would have been terribly upset to see Oregon State going to the Rose Bowl."

He ventured this opinion a hundred yards or so from where Bishop, the rose-wielding Oregon partisan, had concluded a midfield interview with this sign-off: "Now if you'll excuse me, my son is going to videotape me while I dance on the Beaver."

Nothing will stop me from visiting Autzen for my first game next year.

oh really? So that means , if we’re talking this year, then losing the CW meant since
it puts osu in the rose bowl, well, most fans aren’t gonna be too terribly upset with
THAT, right? So we’d fall 2 spots to the las vegas bowl. Hey, so what? Just as long
as we go SOMEWHERE, that’s all that matters….Uh, is the bear catholic? Does the pope
squat in the woods? It was ALL about snuffing the beaver’s chance at a BCS bowl! The
fact that it all but secured the holiday bowl for Oregon was icing on the cake. A 2-fer,
actually, a chance to control our own destiny AS WELL as oregon state’s. And frankly
some of this newfound sentimental hogwash may come from the fact that the huskies
are tanking so badly, that we can hold hands now against the evil purple empire. Yeah,
right. Do I paint an accurate picture, or do I exaggerate?
