Lots of Info on the transition and players who may leave early
Bellotti explicitly says the Kelly transition will probably take place in 1-2 years. As far as I know this was speculated based on some of what he said, but this is the first time I've read that he specifically said he will probably step down in 2 years. I agree with Pflugrad:
"I was a little surprised, you know, because coach Bellotti’s done such a good job," Pflugrad said. "He’s got a lot of years left."
Masoli and Greatwood are worried about Kelly moving to the field. Honestly, if Kelly is still creating the game plan and coaching QBs I'd be ok if a Kelly Disciple was calling the plays. But we can all look forward to around 2 years of speculation about this!
Junior cornerbacks Walter Thurmond III and Jairus Byrd said Friday they plan to investigate their potential position in April’s NFL draft before deciding whether to return for their senior season.
I think that is because of the NFL players contract (or whatever it's called) ending soon. My guess is they will learn that they will still make more money by waiting a year and raising their draft stock then by leaving now and getting drafted in the 6th+ round
However, tight end Ed Dickson and running back LeGarrette Blount said they intend to remain in school and play as seniors in 2009.
This is good news, I was worried about Blount leaving, the logic being that a 2nd or 3rd round pick might make more money this year than a 1st next year (if the NFL institutes a rookie salary max).

I'll take a crack at it.
Only venturing a guess, but maybe spaceman21 was thinking this…
The “lightning and thunder” 2-back system may be getting increasingly popular among NFL teams. Blount will be a great “thunder” for someone – similar to Brandon Jacobs or Lendale White. It’s a sure bet NFL many scouts have LB on their radar.
Why he’s staying? He’s still raw, not entirely refined having played just a single year at the D-1 level. Really good defenses (read USC) shut him down. He’s smart enough to realize he has an opportunity to continue to grow as next year’s #1 back.
They say this cat Blount is a bad mother… Ya damn right!
The ATQer formerly known as Seattle Quacker...oh yeah, I hate the wings.

Good rule of thumb
being compared to Shaft is a good thing (especially if it is the original shaft and not the crappy Sam Jackson movie)

Some Recruting stuff...
Just been looking through Scout for awhile… In a report issued 12/5 Bryce Brown’s father, discussing his son’s recruitment, said Oregon was his best trip so far. An interview of his “mentor/trainer” Brian Butler, posted today 12/6, stated he was planning to enroll early at Miami but is no longer going to do so. Butler added that he wanted to give the other schools a “fair” opportunity to recruit him. In the interview it also stated that his visits to Purdue and Miami were going to be pushed back January.
Also Tajh Boyd revoked his commitment from Tennessee on 12/3. His father said that Ohio State, BC, Oregon were leading.
I would just copy and paste these interviews but it makes me feel dirty.

I forgot to mention that last note in the article
We dropped our 2010 game against Central Michigan for Portland state. Lame, this may be better for our record, but I like feeling superior for not playing FCS teams like teams in other conferences.

It was scheduled due to a friendship between ADs...
However, I guess they decided to keep it regional. As much as playing PSU sucks, I understand is allowing CMU to keep it regional. It won’t much matter for UO, as it would have been a home game either way, and it’ll sell out either way.

When’s the last time we did that, if ever?

I love Blount...
Earlier, I was saying that I was scared Blount would make the jump becuase his type of game is in demand in the NFL these days. I could see him being a Brandon Jacobs type if guy. And he won a super bowl last year.
I bleed grellow. Maybe I should get that checked out.
