Open Thread: Oregon Ducks vs. Kansas State Wildcats
Time: 5:30 p.m. PST
Place: McArthur Court, Eugene, Oregon
Telecast: Fox Sports Net (Nationally Televised)
The Oregon men's basketball team (3-4) takes on the Kansas State Wildcats (5-2) tonight at Mac Court. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PST, but could be delayed due to the game being nationally televised on Fox Sports Net. The game is a rematch of last year's matchup between the two schools and is a part of the second installment of the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series. The Ducks edged the Wildcats last year in Manhattan, KS, with an 80-77 overtime win against a Kansas State team that featured freshman standout Michael Beasley, a first-team AP All-American in 2008 and the No. 1 overall pick in June's NBA Draft.
However, a series of recent injuries could stack the odds against the Ducks this time around. Junior forward Joevan Catron (ankle) and freshman center Michael Dunigan (elbow), both starters, are questionable for tonight's game, while junior forward Frantz Dorsainvil (broken wrist) remains out.
The Ducks will need big games out of junior Tajuan Porter and redshirt sophomore LeKendric Longmire, as well as freshman Garrett Sim, whose 28-point outburst was one of few highlights for the Ducks in Wednesday night's 95-81 loss at Utah.
GO DUCKS!
Correction notice (12/9/08): Michael Beasley was, in fact, the No. 2 overall pick in June's draft, as pointed out by user usdblazerfan.

Not sure if something's changed...
But earlier this week I read Dunigan was set to start. Yes no?
Kicker.
i actually probably won't go to this one
i’m not scheduled to play (it’s ygb’s gig) and i’m feeling sick and busy with finishing a project before tomorrow.

A little OT (if you don't mind)
What is y’alls’ take on Chris Harper? I didn’t hear much about how his true freshman season went. Also have heard rumors swirling that he might consider transferring, now that Bill Snyder was (re)hired as our football coach.
Not trying to stir anything up, just wondering what you guys had heard.

Nope.
Total viral internet rumors.
Chris loves Chip Kelly. He’s open to playing other positions (and he’s made quite a good dent as a WR for us with our lack of depth there.) He started out at QB for maybe the first 4 games until we realized he couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn and teams started stacking the box on him. Amazing athlete, terrible throwing mechanics (also ended up hurting his shoulder with his mechanics early on.)
He’s loving it here. Despite the rehire of Bill Snyder, Chris Harper is a duck.
Kicker.
Cool, thanks

Feed.
Anybody have a vido feed for this game? or a link to a radio site online to listen at least???
Hey DUCK. I think the game is on FSN. Let me see if I can find a justin.tv link for you but chances are slim. One of these days, I’ll have to set up a radio feed just for you!

Sweet.
Thanks alot. There are sites (justintv plus others) where I have been able to watch every single blazer game online for free. I’ll check this out and see if it works. BTW i’ll probably be asking this question for every game, so be prepared.
Nice
The duck game was pre-empted by Blackhawk hockey.

How is KState doing this year?
aka too lazy to look up stats, so anyone willing to answer feel free
Insert something about support for Roger Kieschnick and how to spell a word here.
their two losses are to Kansas and Iowa…both by 2 points. All their wins were blowouts including Oakland who we’ve played

Initial Impressions
Oregon so far has a speed edge. Experience issues are showing through a bit but the tempo is very much an Ernie style.

KSU has had lots of opportunities. They just aren’t converting. Missed free throws, open shots. Kind of a sloppy game so far

Progess. Another step in the right direction. Nice to see TP come up big.
The ATQer formerly known as Seattle Quacker...oh yeah, I hate the wings.
Sim was very impressive.
My new favorite player.
Tajuan stepped up, showed leadership, and had his shot down tonight. His ball handling is still terrible.
Josh Crittle needs to learn to finish, when he can, he’ll big a big force off the bench when Dunkigan needs rest.
Churchill Odia has great veteran presence that is valuable on such a young team.
Ben Voogd is still bald.
Kicker.
