Pac 16?

I came across this blog post and while I get that it's just crazy and far-fetched, at the very least it gets you thinking. While I'm no fan of Notre Dame, the possibilty of adding them to the Pac 10 would be fantastic.

Personally, if this were true, sub out the BYU/Utah/Hawaii group and add Nebraska and OK/OK State.

Why is Hawaii in the North and Notre Dame in the South?

Plus how do we call our selves the Pacific 16 when one of the teams is closer to the Atlantic? It is this kind of wanton disregard to geographic labels that will limit this otherwise plausible scenario.

Lay off the pipe

I realize it’s a little boring until college football resumes, but this guy is nuts.

A lot of people don’t realize, but the Pac-10 considered adding Texas to the Conference many years ago, but the State of Texas wanted us to take Baylor and Texas Tech as well, we weren’t having it.

I would expect the Pac-10 to take many other schools before they would acquire BYU and Utah.

Plus, Notre Dame wouldn’t join the Pac-10 under any circumstances. It’d be nice, to trounce the Irish several times a year, but USC would become a professional franchise before that happens.

I don’t want Notre Dame in Pac-## conference.
I don’t even want to think about adding more teams to the conference.

Notre Dame just needs to join the Big 10 so they can become the Big 10 + 2 = 12 Conference.

I would also prefer to see two 8-team regular conferences instead of one16-team “super” conference. It would be the most indecisive and controversial conference imaginable.
