RIP Todd Doxey

Details are sketchy at this point, but Moseley is reporting that redshirt freshman safety Todd Doxey passed away on Sunday.  It appears that he died after jumping into the McKenzie River.

It is so tragic to see a young man pass away in what should be the prime of his life. Some will be sad that we never saw him on the field, but the real tragedy is that he will never experience what should be the majority of his life.

This incident definitely puts things in perspective.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and teammates.

Its a sad day for the Oregon Ducks family.

Man, Terrence Kelly all over again.

This is a terrible way to go. The worst part is, this happens all the time. Kids jumping from bridges. Most survive. What can you do about it?

He will be much missed, as we all know. Moseley’s got 3 or so entries about it.

(And from accounts on his true frosh year, he sounded like one helluva hands crew guy.)

What a tragedy...

My heart goes out to his family, friends, and teamates.

And please, to everyone here, be friggin careful around Oregon rivers. Todd most likely died, as many do, because they don’t recognize how cold the water is, and thus overestimate how far they can swim. Please, don’t even put yourself in a similar situation.

You're very right.

Not only is the chill a shock to your system, they’re treacherous and rough as a holy eff.

Wow

Very sad news indeed. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family, who we should all consider our family as well.

Not to toot my own horn at all or anything,

But here’s my short piece that I left at one of Moseley’s entries. I liked it and I thought you guys would too.

Todd,
You were gonna be big for us man. We all know it. Best to your family and friends and former coaches/teammates.

Tell Terrence we miss him too. You guys are startin the best damn hands crew God’s ever seen up there. Beat the passed Fuskies in heaven.

...er wait, do Fuskies go to heaven?

Thoughts and prayers from Purdue

My condeolences from Off the Tracks. I’ve been following your program this year because of our game and this is truly tragic.

Thanks Boiler TMill

It is nice during times like this when fans of rival/opponent schools recognize the truly important things in life and are able to put things in perspective. I have seen numerous posts from OSU fans sharing their sympathy for Todd’s family and teammates. It won’t be long again until we are praising the Ducks and bashing our rival, but let’s hope that we can all remember our priorities and what truly matters in life.

My thoughts and prayers to Todd’s family, friends and teammates.

so sad

such a promising prospect, horribly senseless way for him to go. many many thoughts and prayers to his family! if there is one thing about Eugene and the Duck community it’s that it’s a tight one so it makes my heart hurt a bit less to know that the community will be rallying around his family and friends with support.

GO DUCKS!
