Coach's preseason poll
It can be found here
Georgia is number one follwed by USC and Ohio State. I think it is interesting Florida is ranked so high despite the bad year , in Florida's standard, they had last year. Only three Pac-10 teams made the list topped with USC at 2, ASU at 16 and Oregon at 20.
| 1. | Georgia (22) | 0-0 | 1438 | |
| 2. | USC (14) | 0-0 | 1430 | |
| 3. | Ohio State (14) | 0-0 | 1392 | |
| 4. | Oklahoma (3) | 0-0 | 1329 | |
| 5. | Florida (5) | 0-0 | 1293 |

I think Oregon is placed pretty fairly...
But overall, what a joke. 3 Pac-10 teams? Psh. Where the hell is Cal?
Oh, but hey, check it out: Michigan and Wake Forest.
The coaches poll is completely useless.

Wake is going to surprise some people
But anyone who thinks UM will finish in the top 25 is in for a long season
They're in the Big 10...
So they should be able to get 8 wins. But it’s not a strong conference.
As for Wake…they’ll be OK, but they have been pretty lucky the last few seasons.

When will the sample size be big enough . . .
. . . to decide it’s a program on the rise and not just lucky? But I guess we’ll see and I am pretty much always wrong in my predictions so this post is a bad sign for them.
Michigan is going to be bad the first half of the season at least. There are too many players there who came for a completely different system and it will take a part of the season to adjust. I think they are only going to win 5 games – two of their non-cons, Minnesota and Purdue and NW.
The fact that they were outgained in the ACC over the past two seasons...
was why I was referring to Wake as lucky.
As for Michigan…looking at their schedule…that’s gonna be tough. I think Rodriguez will do a good job, so I’m not worried on that end. They’ve been working really hard, changing how they train etc, and that will help, and I think they’ll surprise a few teams. But they don’t have a QB. I think they’ll be better than 5 wins, and play teams harder than they think…but probably not 8 wins.

Wake is legit
Michigan however will be out of the polls week 1, after their upcoming loss to Utah.
No ACC team is legit ;)

Ohio State
Will get drilled by USC and then go barely beat everyone in the Big eleven and by the end of the season be right back where they started. Maybe even playing USC in the Rose Bowl again? Wow…exciting!
Don't bowl games have...
...a no rematch clause? I might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure they’re trying to prevent rematches
$$$
They can prevent the rematch but they really only do it when they think the rematch will impact attendance and/or TV ratings. The Rose Bowl would love an OSU USC rematch
Not if USC smacks OSU...
Who wants to see that twice?
Hmm...
That actually sounds fun.
It would be the BCS making a complete mockery of itself, plus Ohio State gets embarrassed twice… Count me in!
Go Duckies!
I don't believe that the BCS bowls do. Some other ones do however.

This is correct
If BCS bowls did, that’d be outright ridiculous.
Your friendly neighborhood placekicker.
I like being at #20
That way we can move up early in the season (I think the first 4 are almost must-wins if we want to have a good season) and be positioned not to fall too far during the brutal stretch from the USC game to the Cal game (2-2 during that stretch is reasonable if not a little hopeful), and then we close with 3 more that we should win where we can move back up the rankings
