Luke Jackson a Blazer?
He's been invited to preseason camp with the Blazers, and there's one potential spot open on the roster. He's had a rough go with injuries but, like Joey, its been long enough that you have to start thinking he's just really not that good at the next level. I really hope Luke proves us wrong, because he's my favorite Duck ever (my son is named Luke, after all).
Make it happen, Luke. I love Brandon Roy, but his Huskyism does need some counterbalance.

Go Luke
It’d be great to see him finally carve out a role with the Blazers. Given the fact that I no longer have a professional franchise to follow, Jackson making the team would certainly draw my interest.

Mike Rice
On The Game last night said that he was 100% positive that they were going to offer Luke Jackson a contract. Not to throw any doubt on what ‘the wild one’ says, and I know he has got an inside look into the organization that I don’t have, but from what it looks like, there is probably about a 50/50 chance on that happening IMO.

The only thing is theres going to be NO Playing Time for him
I don’t even think he will be on an active roster spot, probably he will be playing in the D-League if hes a blazer. Unless there is a trade within the next month that changes this, the blazers have 11 active roster spots locked up, that leaves 1 more active roster spot between Batum, Lafrenze , and Jackson which I feel it will forsure go to Reaf which is sad because I do like Jackson. Then if Jackson does get the 12 active roster spot he’s behind Roy, Rudy, Martell and Travis. I just wish a little more for Luke and there also is speculation we will offer that last roster spot to Stephen Hill

We won't offer the last spot to anybody
until after training camp. If Jackson does get it, there isn’t going to be much PT unless there are injuries. However, its better than sitting on his a$$ or playing in Europe (which he doesn’t want to do), so I’m pulling for him.

This sounds awfully familiar to the Freddy Jones situation last year.
Hopes not getting up yet.
Best of luck to Luke, of course, but we shouldn’t bank on him making the active roster, let alone getting any meaningful PT.

Oh, and Dave
Is your son named Luke after him, Rid, or did you just like the name?
