Open Thread: Ducks vs. Fuskies

Washington Huskies @ Oregon Ducks

Autzen Stadium, Eugene, Oregon

7:00 PT, FSN National

No better way to start the season than a win against the Fuskies.  I'll be at the game (for maybe the only time this season), but for those of you watching at home, this is the place for discussion of the game, and the day in college football.

Let's go Roper!

GO DUCKS!!!

I'll be at the game

Tomorrow morning I might entertain a recap as it were from an eyewitness. There is a lot of stuff you don’t see on TV.

Also, look for me

I get on TV at the game almost every game, I have seats right where the media camps. I’ll be in a white Stewie jersey with a green undershirt. I’ll also be dashingly handsome and standing next to a very behemoth-like man with a hat on.

Never too early to start counting the upsets in the Top 20 and calculating how Oregon will be affected…

I knew Michigan would struggle today

They’re breaking in the new system and all.

Still, I don’t know if they were having trouble defending the spread last year or whether they were having trouble defending last year.

I mean, they’re being taken apart by ANDY FREAKING LUDWIG right now. I don’t like Michigan, but that’s just not right.

Time of possession...

way too little running the ball on our part. i felt like i was watching a game with just our D vs their O. we need to protect the ball and start grinding this thing out on the ground. it may not be pretty and it may not be a blowout but it will be a safe way to win an in conferance rivalry game.

Good game

Decent job on the O, great job on the D.

We’ll need to cut out mistakes and penalties to compete against the upper level Pac-10 teams, but we SHOULD have a good start to the season. There are a few wrinkles to iron out all over, but still, I’ll take the decisive win.

It’s gonna be a tough season though.

Not sure what Ted Miller's "TV Report" is...

…but he seems to think Roper has a hand injury:

Obviously, the big story is the status of Oregon QB Justin Roper — an official announcement on his condition has not be made, though a TV report termed it a hand injury. If Roper is going to miss some games, then the Ducks appear to be prepared to use both Jeremiah Masoli and Chris Harper.
