Why did Roper get pulled?
The TV announcers stated that it was because he got his bell rung. I kinda doubted it--I suspected he didn't show much so Belotti pulled him--but I accepted it at face value, even though Roper seemed to be fine when he was talking to his parents on the sidelines.
But in this live blog by a Seattle PI reporter, she wrote during the third quarter that it was because of a hand injury.
Maybe just a mistake, but I get the feeling that while Costa may have been the #1, the battle for #2 wasn't really settled when he went down, and Roper was on a short leash. I just hope this doesn't lead to the coaches switching out QBs like Saturday night.

Nobody's on that short of a leash...
If Roper had gotten benched just for throwing a pick (after going 7/10, for 114 yds, 1 TD before that), his confidence would have been shot for the entire season. No coach would do that to a QB

I would be surprised
To see him play too much against Utah State though. It’s not like we need him…

yeah
as if Belotti has ever needed to make up an injury to justify yanking out a QB…
