Washington Huskies getting the respect they deserve..
You all have probably similar feelings as I do towards the Washington Huskies as I do, and so this was a pretty nice surprise...
I was recently going through the Sports Illustrated Ducks webpage, and was pleased to see that last season the Huskies were ranked 13th in Points allowed in the Pac-10
And yes that is 13 in the Pac-10.

That makes me happy
If anyone can find a way to suck that much, its the fuskies. I don’t know the total teams in teh NCAA of the top of my head, but even if it is legit, 134th overall is very very high. God they suck.
Ducks Go!
They are incredibly screwed this year...
I’m sure we’ll have more on them in the coming weeks…but they just lost even more on the defensive side of the ball, including their top linebacker. It’ll be a great first game for our offense, against a very poor defense.

It should be a great match up
for our defense though. We will absolutely see what our secondary is made up of during this first game. And since we are rebuilding at QB, we really are going to have to rely on them to keep the points off of the board.
Jake L will definitely be in top form, and as we saw last year, he can hit those routes that we have had trouble with. A lot of us are thinking that this game will be a slam-dunk, but the way our teams match up and given that our Offense will be rocky for at least the first two contests, it should be a very interesting game.
Jaws were hitting the floor as Greg repeatedly attempted to tear the rim off the backboard...
Locker got lucky last year.
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT
J. Locker 12/31 257 8.3 4 1
12/31?!? That is really, really awful. He was able to make a few things happen, and don’t get me wrong, he’s a great player, but he got very lucky on a few throws last game. Will that happen again? Maybe, but they won’t have the run game to take the pressure off him.
I don’t think he will have the same luck again. He’ll have a good game, but I don’t think it will stop an Oregon victory.

Agreed
We will see what happens, and I definitely remembered the game as being worse than that. I didn’t remember him carving us up, but there were definitely some big plays that I guess stuck with me more than the rest of the game.

We're going to have to be very disciplined...
But I think our boys are up for the task. We’ll most like be able to get a pass rush. They won’t be able to run, and their receivers are very very not good. So…discipline. That was what hurt us last year on the defensive side of the ball.

Absolutely
I was thinking about including that in my comments. But I definitely remember us Jumping the Routes and the Ball getting thrown right over our heads. WT3 needs to sit tight, even though the ball is going to be just floating out there, go for knocking the ball down, less trying to catch it out of their hands.

The Third will know what to do.
He knows all.
He had 3 pick-sixes earlier today off of Costa and Roper, and word was Costa was spot-on with all of his passes, including the INT. Heard that III just superman’d it out of the air.
We have nothing to worry about with our secondary… we do need to worry about overconfidence and underestimation of Jake Locker’s skill.
Your friendly neighborhood placekicker.
When I think of their gamea against Ohio St I get more worried about him
Early in the season he looked like a beast, running through tackles and giving big hits just as he got them. I have a feeling he got a little dinged up so he stopped running as much. I do not look forward to playing a completely healthy Locker with the ability to run the ball and experience in the pocket to go with it.
