College Gameday Live - House of Loud

College Gameday Live just reported that Oregon has changed the name of Autzen to the House of Loud. The ESPN panel got a real good laugh out of that. Even going as far  as to say Ohio State has changed the stadium name to the Shoe of Horse. Whoever created that terrible name should be banned from all U of O sporting events. They are making the U of O look like a bunch of clowns. Idiots

I realize it’s not true and not going to happen. I imagine the Athletic Dept is pretty upset at that company for getting that trademarked. It’s that fact that ESPN is reporting it as true that sucks. Does anyone even know who that company is and why that thought this was a good idea? Every post i’ve seen regarding that name and the T-Shirts they’ve made have been very negative. If i seen anyone wearing that crap at Autzen I’l gol ballistic.

Oh Dear God NO!!!!!

ESPN wtf did you let some random Eugene company convince you that the Ducks had adopted a new nickname?! Maybe it’s time for everyone to start firing off angry emails to ESPN?!

submitted a angry complaint as a correction on espn.com

Shouldn’t they have at least bothered to check with the ACTUAL UNIVERSITY before claiming its team is adopting a new nickname?!

Ruxxe has posted a response to the negative comments they have received on their website regarding the house of loud. They also have their email address on there if anyone is interested. www.ruxxe.com and info@ruxxe.com

Okay, lessee here

1. Got drunk at Duck game.
2. Called out cocky Michigan fan.
3. Coined awesome, funny, and intimidating incredibly stupid and not-clever-whatsoever term.
4. Had a good laugh.
5. Thought that’d make a cool t-shirt.
6. Started marketing this as the “new official nickname of Autzen Stadium.”
7. Dropped in an email to ESPN, Rob Moseley, Addicted to Quack, et al.

8. Defend self with tail between legs.

This is so embarrassing

We need to grab Ruxxe by the… actually this post was going to a bad place from the start.

Basically, we need to forget about this and totally disregard Ruxxe from now on. This is stupid to be fussing about, I realize now.

Agreed….the more we talk about this STUFF the more attention it gets. I know I started it, but it was out of shock and anger. No more to be said about this $@$#

On to football practice, Autzen and another good season.

No it's cool dude

I wasn’t placing blame on any of us, just saying, we should move on. Among all the things that should piss us off, say, another coach dancing at the O at midfield in Autzen, or, say, a former graduate and star basketball player cutting all ties with the university, or, say, run-on sentences like this… we chose to get our tits in a knot about ESPN laughing at something we disapprove of. It’s not necessary, and not healthy to get worked up about this, among other things.

I didn't realize

The shirts weren’t available yet. You’d think they would wait to start up their website until they actually had something available to sell

by inroywetrust on Aug 5, 2008 10:57 PM PDT reply actions

It's bullshit

Pardon the french. But I love Autzen, and I think its reputation as one of the most difficult places to play speaks for itself. This is all just an effort to sell t-shirts, and I think it’s ridiculous. Hopefully this thing doesn’t get off the ground.

Autzen Stadium is Autzen Stadium. It’s the media that eventually started to call it “The Zoo.” It will always be Autzen for me.

by travissimmo on Aug 6, 2008 12:10 AM PDT reply actions

Yah...

And for having the reputation for one of, arguably the hardest place to play in the country… the phrase makes a mockery out of the reputation.

Autzen or Bust

That just pisses me off. I don’t mind Autzen Zoo but “House of Loud”!? I wonder how the moron in the brainstorm session brought that one up? ‘What cheesy catchphrase is the most ma and pa friendly and will sell us the most tee-shirts at wal-mart?’ EPIC PHAIL!

Epic Maehl!

Now that is a damn sober nickname.

As if they didn’t have enough shit to whine about concerning the Ducks now they can throw this in all Duck fans’ faces. They say they are duck fans but no real fans wouold do this.
