Tailgating at WSU?
Next week some friends and myself are going on the road to watch Oregon play in Pullman. None of us have ever been to a game at Martin Stadium. Does anyone know what the tailgating situation is like up there? Is the space limited? Is a parking pass needed to tailgate in the stadium parking lot or are there plenty of private parking lots in the vicinity? Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Haven't done a lot of it myself but...
There are a few parking lots close to the stadium, all of which require permits to park. Except for the parking garage (which may just be a pay lot on weekends), I believe they all allow tailgating. There are plenty of areas to park which require more like a 10 – 15 minute walk to the stadium (uphill!) but they are free on weekends. I don’t know if visiting team fans tend to congregate in any particular lot to tailgate together.
Sorry if this isn’t much help, but I live in walking distance to the stadium so I’m not sure about everything. You can definitely park for free almost anywhere on campus and be within 10 minutes of the stadium.

Drove up there last year with some friends
The campus is very spread out, which surprised me a bit. It is always VERY hilly so expect a good work out heading up to the stadium. There was one parking lot in particular that a lot of Beaver fans were, and it seemed like the only one where you didn’t need a pass to get into (but if I remember correctly it was like $5-10). Maybe some Cougar fans could help point you in the right direction: it was next to the observatory and I believe there was some green houses adjacent to the lot. That might point you in the right direction.
But again, prepare to get a workout, I was sucking wind by the time we got to the stadium.

Thanks for the information
I don’t mind a workout, especially if it means I get the chance to burn off some calories after consuming some beverages. and eating some bratwurst.

They’re doing construction on that lot, I don’t know if it’ll be open for the weekend.
Our construction projects in Washington take almost as long as yours in Oregon!

Parking
You’ve probably already found something like this, but here is the gameday parking guide:
http://www.parking.wsu.edu/Gameday
http://www.parking.wsu.edu/utils/File.aspx?fileid=2952 (map and general parking info)
btw, don’t expect to get out of town quickly unless for some UNPREDICTABLE reason the stadium is empty by the 3rd quarter. The streets in Pullman were not made to handle gameday traffic.

oops
Also, on the GP map, be wary about the bottom route as there is currently construction on that road. I’m sure they’ll try to clear it up for the game, but no promises! You can get to the GP lots on that side of campus by just going up Stadium Way to the “blocked off” area, then turning right on Grimes.
