Open Game Thread: UCLA Bruins vs Oregon Ducks
UCLA Bruins at Oregon Ducks, Jan 4, 2009 12:30 PM PST
What: UCLA Bruins (11-2) vs Oregon Ducks (6-7)
Time: 12:30 PM PST
Location: Mac Court, Eugene Oregon
Media: Fox Sports Northwest
The UCLA Bruins come to town a year after the infamous Kevin Love visit to Mac Court. Even though "the Love" is gone from UCLA, the Bruins are rolling again this year, compiling an 11-2 record and gelling well together. Oregon has been having trouble finishing games, losing their last outing to USC.
If Oregon is going to win this game, they need to come out and play a full game with intensity and desire. The Ducks were in the USC game until about the 14 minute mark in the second half where the wheels fell off the cart. Even though UCLA isn't the same team as last year, they are still the favorites to win the Pac-10 title again this year.
ESPN has a preview up for the game.

like the intensity so far. Seems like Ernie must have gotten in their ear about intensity since the USC game

Autzen Stadium is where great teams go to die." - J. Brady McCullough, The Michigan Daily.
Good observation.
With this second-half run they’re making they may be learning about the benefits of energy and intensity on defense against a more talented team. That’s all I want to see from this team – learning, growing and slowly getting better.
The ATQer formerly known as Seattle Quacker...oh yeah, I hate the wings.
We may be making a few too many mistakes to win this game in the end, but we are staying in it and making some good plays. The mistakes we are making are experience-related and have already started to clear up since the beginning of the year. I am very encouraged by the play against UCLA…at least so far

Good effort
Tajuan of course had a rough time, but this young team is getting valuable gelling time.
Is a mancrush on LeGarrette Blount considered beastiality?

With our rebounding deficiencies, we need to be more selective with our shots. More high-percentage shots is the name of the game this season. We can’t afford to have Tajuan jack up eleven 3’s a game. He made four, but seven missed threes with the way we rebound is potentially 14-21 points for the other team, plus possibly some personal fouls.
It's spelled "M-A-R-C-H-I-N-G-B-A-N-D."

We're now the worst team in the Pac-10 Conference
OSU beat USC in overtime.
I see this as an embarrassing development.
