ESPN's Schlabach: Oregon No. 17 coming into 2009 season
ESPN columnist Mark Schlabach issued an early look at the 2009 Top 25. He has Oregon at No. 17, citing uncertainty around Bellotti's status and the graduation of a number of key players on both sides of the ball.

I can buy the part about graduation of key players
but the “uncertainty” around Bellotti? Does Schlabach even know about the situation with Kelly?
I actually feel more comfortable going into this next season then I did last season.
Sure, we’ve been on a winning streak, but the progress we’ve seen in Masoli, the probable return of Blount, the experience our upcoming OLine has received (despite not being starters), the improvement in the linebackers…
I still would like to see a good free safety – that would make me feel very comfortable.
It's spelled ""S-H-U-Y-O-U-V-E-D-O-N-E-S-O-M-E-N-I-C-E-T-H-I-N-G-S-W-I-T-H-T-H-E-P-L-A-C-E"
I don't mind the team being here right now.
They just finished their season and of course those ranking are going to change. I would be very happy with a preseason ranking of 10-15 next year. I think that they have earned that and of the course of the summer the team will rise. Man that game against BSU is going to be an early season test, should be a great game.
To go out and ruin somebody's dreams like that, it feels real good," Oregon receiver Jaison Williams.
