It’s the greatest scene that I’ve ever seen in College GameDay, That early in the morning, that many people. That makes it special.

Now 2-0 in Husky Stadium with a win each for LSU and Oregon.
I support Sonja Newcombe for Heisman.

Presumably they can keep the black helmets as back-ups if they have a problem.

Interesting, I thought that I read that the Carbon helmets are not yet ready...
If there ever was a game to debut them, it would be this one!

the x2 update on the nikeblog says they’re ready to go now, with the caveat that the team hasn’t played with them (which would ordinarily imply they wouldn’t be worn during the game).
I still would have preferred the all black, perhaps, but the silver/black/silver is next best for Halloween.
And the only reason I’m talking uniforms here is because if I spend any more time worrying about Masoli’s accuracy, the offensive line holding up, Dickson’s ability to get loose and Mays running rampant in the secondary, my mind will unquestionably explode…

Yeehaaaa! I simply love the uniforms...
Hoping everything lives up to the hype..I’m wondering how it possibly could, what with all this build up. Of course, as long as we win, I think I’ll be happy.

USC - The new evil hawtness?
OK, I know we have a deep-seated, ingrained-in-the-bone hatred of the Beavs (enemy #1) and the Huskies (Hucking Fuskies, enemy #2). But seriously, folks, I’ve exhausted my enmity at them in serious ways. They’re no more than annoying younger brother who’ve done childish evil things to us (looking at you, Neuheisel).
Particulary since the 2007 win, the game I’ve most wanted to win on the calendar has been the USC game. Let’s face it, they’re kingpins, we want to become kingpins. But that’s not all that’s at work here.
I currently have a burning desire to demolish USC, a desire that burns with the intensity of a thousand burning suns. I don’t want to see 24-17 scratched out with toughness. I want 55-10. I want 45-3. I want 5 sacks, 4 takeaways, 2 punt returns and several blocked field goals. I want them embarrassed in front of the nation. I want to kick their butts and make them cry in front of everybody and their aunt, as they’ll all be watching on Saturday.
This is not coming from a normal football fan’s desire to see their team win. This is coming from a deeply wounded fan who saw an almost certain national championship and Heisman snatched from our hands (and deserving Dennis’s hands) by cruel, cruel football gods back in 2007. I feel owed. I feel deeply, deeply, owed.
This is coming from a disgusted fan who’s been looking at the absolutely horrendous and unjust voting in the polls and the entrenched in-the-USC-tank homerism displayed by many in the national media and wanting to throw a shoe at the tv or my laptop as the case may be.
It’s coming from someone who reads this explanation/justification (scroll down towards the end) of the bile-inducing incompetence of the Coaches and AP poll voters. For what it’s worth, Chip Kelly does not have a vote in the Coaches Poll.
It’s possible we’re not that good, and we get smushed, or it somehow slips away from us. But I sure hope not. Because I feel OWED, goddamn it, OWED, for whatever reason. Surely, if there’s any justice in the world, this year will be our year…
