Media Wednesday - The Day the Heisman Trophy Cried
Sometimes looking back at 2007 makes for great memories. With Arizona State coming to town, I would risk offending Juju if I did not seek to remind us of our humble times during that season. The Sun Devils weren't very competitive this day but they dealt a dramatic blow, one that we would point to later as the turning point of our run towards a national championship. We're heavy favorites going into the game this weekend but all of that can turn on an instant...just like it did in 2007. Win the day, one day at a time.

You are a monster.
Defense, Im talking to you! You want to kill this Osweiler fella...Come on defense, FOCUS god dammit!
I respect you Juju, you and your gorgeous brilliance
We lost our last game because we lost sight and got distracted from appeasing Juju. It is important that we all see this! Witness it! Remember the humbling experience!

too bad Harrington failed miserably in the NFL

Harrington was doomed from the start
When you have one of the most incompetent GMs in NFL history (Matt Millen) calling the shots, NO ONE was going to be able to succeed in the cesspool that was the Lions.
I mean, this is the same GM who drafted three wideouts in a row with his first-rounders. Two of which are out of football completely (Shaun Rogers, Mike Williams), and the other was traded and is struggling with the Cowboys (Roy Williams).

At least we had one of the greatest back-up QBs of all time
To carry us through those last games to a National Championship.
Wha—— huh? I… where am I?
Life is hilarious.
You are on the planet that I wish I lived on.

The Ducks' 27-point margin was one more than the margins of all seven of USC's losses since 2004 combined.
I never saw this footage until today.
I was working during the game and got to go to my truck periodically. I remeber Jerry Allen saying that Dixon left the game with an injury. I was happy hearing about the W, but didn’t get thr full gravity until I saw Dixon crumble on TV the following week.
Juju, we are humble. Please protect the vital knee ligaments for all Oregon players.
May we hand you your taints on a silver platter...
the real tease the the TD run @ Arizona...
…when DD ran 30something for the first TD, I got up from my seat and yelled “HE’S OK!!! HE’S REALLY OK”
and then, depression set in.
JUJU BE PRAISED!
Though it’s painful to watch the fall of Dixon, the benevolent Juju has rewarded our renewed devotion and reverence!
Arizona State’s true freshman quarterback Brock Osweiler will make his first career start in a difficult place even for a veteran quarterback to succeed: Oregon’s Autzen Stadium.
Though coach Dennis Erickson said there would be open competition at the position this week, Osweiler may have eclipsed senior Danny Sullivan by default. The Arizona Republic reported that Sullivan didn’t practice Wednesday because of an injury to his right biceps.
I WANT HIS EARDRUMS.

Why do you still have this one up?
I love your Youtube collection, but I’ve never watched this one, and I won’t watch it ever again. I am now going to console myself by watching Snoop running over and around hapless opposing defenses…

Ok. Here’s what happened today after seeing this post:
11:30 – Went to therapy, talked about how lost and alone I felt in the world
12:30 – Came home, took my pants off, crawled back into bed
4:00 – Woke up, took my comforter to the couch, bundled up, feeling so cold.
And I stayed there. All day, only to get dressed at 2 AM to walk to work. When I got there, I found out my shift had been cut. My bosses decided to close the waffle cart at 2. No one told me. Dom, I’m blaming you for my entire day. I will accept your apology anytime you’re ready to take responsibility for your actions. Until then, you are the first member of the Tako Tuesdays “You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here” list.

The Arizona game
The Arizona game was much worse, Dickson actually did cry on the sidelines with his father. I remember how the Arizona fans celebrated that injury and that night. Very disheartening to see fans enjoy a victory over a team without it’s star player. If I were Chip Kelly I would put together some clips of the buildup of those games, and the excitement leading into Arizona then play the Arizona reaction to the injury and their reaction to the result of that game. If that doesn’t piss you off and make you want to play I don’t know what does.
I don’t mind that they celebrated a victory over a team without its star player. That’s not great, to be sure, but we were #2 and they were #a billion. It was a big win for them.
The strike against them is that they cheered the injury itself. That was the that asshat move, and that’s what I believe the Juju will be punishing this year as they enter the Rose Bowl hunt.

I’d still say their celebration wasn’t to the injury but from the fact that he went down behind the line. When he stayed on the field, things did get quiet.

Does anyone remember that last valiant drive for a TD against Arizona?
Almost all runs, short grinding it out, in-the-mud football. I was never prouder of the Ducks than when they completed that drive.
That drive will always be in my mind. It was all desire, and just so painful to watch.
--AddictedToQuack, SBNation's Oregon Ducks blog
Yeah, you're right, it was painful. And, it was our answer to Arizona.
If they are going to show the 2009 Ducks anything, show them that drive. I can still fell the pain. And the pride. And the determination. They were men of Oregon by God!
