Quack Fix: Ducks Getting Healthier; Did A-Rod "Masoli" During Baseball's Postseason?
Two more days...anyone else feel like time is moving way too slowly? Here is today's quack to help pass the time:
- The R-G's Ron Bellamy caught up with the guy who probably is the key to the outcome of Saturday's game - Arizona QB Nick Foles. But for a couple fluky miscues by the sophomore QB, it could have be Arizona in first place heading into this match-up.
- Rob Moseley's Wednesday practice report had some good news, including the return of Ed Dickson and LaMichael James following illnesses.
- Brian Kimball of the Arizona Daily Wildcat writes that UA coaches are taking notice of Oregon's improvement on defense. Greg Hansen of the Arizona Daily Star calls Jeremiah Masoli a "magic man."
- ESPN's Ted Miller introduces us to "masoli", his new term for describing instances where an athlete suddenly morphs into elite status. Miller's weekly Pac-10 picks. And, what to watch this week in Pac-10 play.
- Ken Goe of The Oregonian weighs in on the university's attempt to squash the popular viral video, 'I Love My Ducks'. Stupid lawyers. Any video that garners good ratings from the scribes at EDSBS.com needs to be promoted vigorously.
You know the drill from here. Go Ducks!

This year’s masoli happened when Masoli stopped trying to score 11 points on every play.
“Early this season, he tried to take a lot of the load on himself. Now he realizes that we’ve got some weapons around him,” Ducks coach Chip Kelly said. “He’s got a better understanding of managing the game and not forcing issues. Just kind of letting things come to him. He made some really smart plays on Saturday [against Arizona State] just throwing the ball away in the red zone.”
From Miller’s Masoli article.
I think this is a very good assessment of why Masoli started off poorly and has improved.
It's spelled "S-H-U-V-3-0-0-0"
And why LaMichael James
Becoming da’ man has been the most important development this year. With an elite RB he can hand it to, the pressure is less on JM.

Can't wait
To see how we perform in the desert with a healthy quarterback. I think I dislike Stoops as much as Neuweasel.
The road to Pasadena runs through Autzen Stadium
I would have said Dixoned
Because DD went form being an INT machine his junior season to Heisman front-runner his senior year. All because he played baseball over the summer (or not).

That fake statue of liberty
Is seriously my favorite play of all time.

That game and the Husky game that year really taught the camera men about the read option. You always missed half of the play because the camera was following the wrong guy.
The road to Pasadena runs through Autzen Stadium
This is how I described the UW game (which I attended) to someone
Oregon fakes the handoff or the QB run. The defense follows the fake.
Pitch is to J-Stew or Dixon keeps it and runs to the other side of the field.
The crowd roars as they tackle the guy who they faked the handoff too.
Then is immediately silenced as they realize the guy with the ball is 20 yards downfield.
Repeat 20 to 30 times and you have that game.

It really doesn’t get much better than that. Faking out not only the Huskies defense, but their fans too. They got Double Dixoned by the stormtroopers that night.
"...the noise is one aspect, but you can feel the intensity of their crowd." - Pete Carroll on Oregon's Autzen Stadium.
The second best moment of that night
Was the look in J-Stew’s face after he got booed during introductions. Then he ran right over the Fuskies.

Step one) Run over Fuskies
Step two) Repeat 251 times

Unis for Sat?
Any word what the Ducks will be wearing? Just wondering so I can coordinate for the game…
I'd rather die on my feet than be living on my knees
Maybe they will finally bust out the carbon unis
Would that even be allowed on the road? They might be waiting for the civil war for the carbon just to piss off beaver fans

Likely Green Helmets.
White Jerseys – Carbon or Green?
Pants are unknown.
It's spelled "S-H-U-V-3-0-0-0"
Pants are unknown!?
In that case, I really do not want to see this game.

My bet is green-white/gray-gray

I support inroywetrust in his support of The VD Special in his support of me supporting Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.
Phil Steele picked against us
Despite his computers favoring us (and despite his pick of Oregon for the Rose). WE ARE GOING TO WIN! The only time he picked us in any of our competitive games was vs. Furd and apparently it angered Juju enough that we lost.
HAIL JUJU!

In order to get to the Rose Bowl, I guess he’s assuming the following?
1) Oregon loses to Arizona
2) Oregon wins the Civil War
3) Cal wins out
4) Arizona loses to either USC or ASU
I just don’t see Cal beating the trees but I suppose it could happen

Its a rivalry game
So anything can happen.

It’s okay dude, kicking your ass is all business, nothing personal:

Great Photo!
I love the swarming to the ball carrier, not to mention how many hands are on the ball!
This one is for you Quinn. 3 DNA’s and only 1 Revo (on the UO players)!

Crazy you say that, while I was bored in Geometry on Tuesday...
I was thinking about how never in the 8-year history of the Revolution helmet has an Oregon QB worn one. Only Schutt Airs and DNAs. Darron Thomas would have been had he not switched to a DNA this fall.

Officially getting some more often than The VD Special since 2009.
Is it just me or does that RB have his eyes closed?
Think he’s wincing in pain too?
