Civil War spread opens at Oregon -8
That's a big spread for a rivalry game featuring two top-15ish teams. Thoughts?

Nifty.
Maybe they’re looking at the advantage of Autzen (I know, I know.)

Makes sense
Autzen is worth about a TD and this game would otherwise be about even.

For two teams at the top of the Pac-10? That seems awfully high. Both offenses are very good, Oregon State has been questionable all year on defense and Oregon isn’t exactly coming in with momentum on that side of the ball either. That line just seems way out of left field to me.

You do have to remember
Lines are not intended to be predictive but to encourage bettting. Still this is strange because Oregon’s lines have always started this year on the low side (for them) and then moved up as Oregon had money bet on them. This seems designed to encourage OSU bets.

OSU fans can barely show up and buy tickets. How are they gonna put bets down?

The over/under is also at 61, so they’re expecting about a 35-27 game. Doesn’t sound all that outlandish to me.

I’d be surprised if either team holds the other to under 35. But hey, I thought the same about Boise.

I think there will be nerves on both sides to start the game, so the game may start off pretty slow… but once the fireworks start…watch out!

If we lead at the end of the fourth quarter, we should be in pretty good shape

So, how is it that one brother is named "James", and the next one "Jacquizz"?
Anyways, based on the picture; they look as if they have a relationship thats a little too comfortable.

If we're leading at the end of the game, I'll be happy

My guess is the spread narrows through the week
.. to something like -6.
I like the over here. I can see this being something like 45-35.

I don't know, I think a TD plus one is a pretty fair estimate.
You get any closer than that and OSU is a pretty tough sell. Maybe the -8 is going to make folks come out of the woodwork and push it, but I have my doubts.

Yeah
I would say that the over is a lock.

Of course I would have said that about the Zona game
And had it not been for the tying drive by Masoli we wouldn’t have hit the 58.5 over.

But Vegas doesn't care if it's overtime..

My guess is that they’ve seen the same stats jtlight posted earlier this week – Oregon has been ridiculously dominant at home. If the game is played in Corvallis, it would probably be a pick em.
