Just moved from Reno so I saw way too much Nevada Football....
They are a great running team. A smaller team that utilizes a creative offensive stratigy to overcome its size issues. The defense is horrible – undersized, slow, and young in critical positions.
The key is their QB Colin Kaepernick. He is very capible of putting the team on his shoulders and leading the team to victory. He has and strong arm, great ability and a huge set of rocks, however sometimes he can come out flat and very inaccurate. I have always thought that if he was a Duck, he would have been great in a Chip Kelly offense.
Do they have enough to beat Boise St? Prolly not however Nevada will keep it close and with a team that can put up points in bunches you never know what could happen.

Your offense is averaging 5 yards a play. Your chances of getting one yard there are like 9 out of 10. You’re unranked. You have a chance to upset the #7 team in the nation. Your defense is barely hanging on while your offense has found its rhythm in the second half. There is no risk, while the reward is a chance at an incredible victory.
It was a terrible decision, totally conventional, but completely at odds with any statistical analysis.

Punting doesn’t nearly suck the air out of the crowd that getting c-blocked on 4th down at your own 25 yard-line does. If it was at the 45 or midfield, I would be on your side.

Polls
Its a stupid argument starter that is predicated on the idea of creating stupid arguments. The only relevance of the polls is that people actually talk about them. If there were actually a playoff, fewer people would care about the polls, a bunch of computer nerds would be out of jobs, even more AP writers would be let go, SID’s would have to do their real jobs, and crappy schools playing crappy schedules would have to join a conference and build a program or shut down altogether.
I honestly could not hate the polls anymore. I could care less if they rank us 81st in the country at this point… beat Stanford, win the Pac 10, go to the Rose Bowl and get retribution on Penn State!!!! Those are my priorities… Fuck the BCS, Fuck Boise State, and Fuck the Polls…I’m out.
