Jamere Holland out for the Rose Bowl, ruled Academically Ineligible
This is just a sad development in the ongoing saga of Jamere Holland. For a guy that was a preseason pick by many to have a breakout year, he's fallen off the cliff. Where does he go from here?

Waste
of talent.
If I had the tools he had, I would make damn sure I wouldn’t ruin a trip to the Rose Bowl and waste my talent.

its always funny when a fan says this. a 20 yr old kid is never a waste of talent. maybe he made a few bad decisions and luckily he’s still young enough to make some better ones.

Thank you. That's what really, really needed to be said.

I have a Ropert is God™ complex.
but the fact remains that he could be missing his only opportunity to go to the rose bowl bc he couldn’t keep his grades up.. i dont care what he does on the field or in practice thats just lazy
The Rose Bowl is a football game. Period. If he never plays another football game, he is a successful young man.

why?
if he never plays another football game then, as far as i can tell, he has no (or very little) football success to go along with his shit grades
Who knows,
Perhaps he can manage to turn his academics around. Either way, graduating college for free would be pretty darn sweet.
Juju, you have already blessed the Duck masses by diverting Terrelle Pryor to Columbus Ohio; and in the process granted us one magical Masoli who happens to be "sicker than E-Coli (I know from experience with E-Coli, Masoli must be pretty damn sick)". We are all mutually gracious for this blessing. However, in our time of dearest need, we request that one Terrelle Pryor succumb to your overwhelming collegiate football dictation skillz.

Unless you're boasting a 3.6 GPA as we speak, with the easy enough assumption that you are not a college football player.
You are unsuccessful by your own metrics.

Really? You gotta apply words like “waste” on some kid?
its spelled "S-h-u-t-t-h-e H e-l-l-U-p-F-E-L-T"
Especially considering how hard he worked in the offseason in spite of everything.

Sad.
Tough to see a kid who is already expended their second chance make another mistake. I doubt he sees the field next season.

Exactly.
Diante Jackson will be chomping at the bit to earn a starting spot, not to mention many others will as well. Holland has simply never shown quite enough motivation or focus to make it in Pac-10 football.

my starters for next year
maehl, Tuinei/Diante in a rotation and Davis/Gaines in a rotation.
The beloved creator of Sandwich music.
Yeah,
With as good of depth as we have at WR, A rotation of guys will be very likely

You say "starters" and then list off every scholarship WR on the depth chart.

I think it's way too early for this kind of talk.
Unfortunately this is round two of problems. However, academic problems like this can be fixed rather quickly in college football. I’m not justifying this, I just think this isn’t nearly as bad as the first time around.
My prediction? Holland will be on our team next year and will contribute.

Derrick Jones part deux.
Not a big loss for this game, not a big loss if he decides not to return to school.
Sadly, I agree. I really wanted Holland to succeed. Sucks for him.

Yeah, that’s the tough thing. After spring ball, it really felt like Holland was going to be a great turnaround story. Looked great on the field, seemingly got his act together off the field, and then neither one went well this fall.
For his sake, I hope he at least figures out the off-field stuff.
