Rose Bowl Ticket Thread
As a Duck fan living in Southern California, I’m incredibly excited we made it to the Rose Bowl, for the obvious reason that we’re Pac 10 champs in a BCS bowl, but also because it’s conceivable that I could attend! I’ve only been able to go to one game since I graduated from school in 2004, and that was the eminently forgettable 16 – 0 ugliness that occurred against UCLA the week after we lost Dennis Dixon for the season.
Anyway, I’m interested in getting Rose Bowl tickets, as I’m sure others of you are as well. However, I have no idea how to go about obtaining them. A quick Google search led me to the Rose Bowl website, which explained that a “limited number” of tickets were going on sale at Ticketmaster on Tuesday, December 8th. Here’s the link, if anyone’s interested: http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0B00436D9F964973?brand=rosebowl
A couple of issues:
1. It appears tickets are $145, which are dang expensive. I could still swing that, but then there are Ticketmaster’s fees, which will probably wind up in the $15 per ticket range, if not more, plus overnight shipping, which seems completely unnecessary, but will cost another $10 - $20. Yikes.
2. These are general admission tickets. It would be really nice to be able to sit amongst Oregon fans.
So here’s my purpose for this thread, if the rest of you wise, all-knowing ATQers out there are willing to participate. What are our options for getting tickets? Is the University selling tickets? Are there any ways to buy tickets to avoid all the extra fees? Does anyone have any alternate ticket-purchasing methods to recommend?
As I said, I would love to go, and I would especially love to meet any of you ATQ community members who attend. I’m pretty much a novice at tailgating, but living in SoCal, I would be driving there and would be able to host a tailgate for those of you flying in from other parts of the country. So any help is greatly appreciated.
Go Ducks!

They are expensive
But not that expensive. The AVERAGE price of playoff tickets in the Wildcard round of the NFL playoffs, for example, is $121.

Here’s a link for those that contribute to the DAF. I’m not sure if you can request tickets through the same process but you might be able to.

Thanks for the link
I signed up for the Duckmail thing, so maybe I’ll get an email about bowl tickets. I’ll post it here if I do.

Find a season ticket holder
Each Oregon season ticket holder can buy two RB tickets, so find one that’s not going.
Also, I’m not sure, but I think UCLA season ticket holders might get some tickets, so find a UCLA booster and check.
Last year....
There were tickets available for the Holiday Bowl from ticketmaster, but then the University did a ticket sale through GoDucks.com that was for not related to being a season ticket holder. I would expect the same this year, but it is the Rose Bowl so it’s hard to say. I’m crossing my fingers for the University to sell tickets so I can get one there and be with the rest of the roudiest fans in the land.

On the plus side
The Rose Bowl is a huge stadium, they should have more tickets available.

Just talked to the ticket office
And they said that there are unlikely to be any rosebowl tickets available through the university to the general public after the season ticket holders get their share. Which means unfortunately that ticketmaster seems like the best choice. They told me that if any are left over after season ticket holders get them they should be available the 15th.

I'll be coming down from the Bay Area
so if there’s an ATQ tailgate, definitely post it here. My flight arrives around 8:30am, so I’ll have some time to join in any pregame festivities. :)
From what I’ve heard, the best way to get tickets is either through the universities themselves, or through stubhub. Ugh.
There's no crying in baseball!
Start contacting every season ticket holder you know if you need tickets.

That's the thing
Every season ticket holder I know is a poster here, which is why I put up this post.

I’m in the donor “lottery” to get 2 tickets. If it’s just me and my wife (and a silly buckeye fan with us), we’ll have some sort of ATQ presence there.

They sold out on Ticketmaster within 5 seconds.
Pretty disappointing really. Stubhub is now an option but those are going for 270 at the cheapest, which is out of my price range. I’m still waiting to hear on student tix, but I’m pretty sure its gonna be disappointing news. This is so f’d.
I'm with you
I got through the security checkwords in less than 25 seconds from 8:00 and I got nothing. I guess 100,000 seats isn’t enough. Pretty ridiculous.
