Dammit. How’d Twist get the first post in our first win of the Pac-10 season celebration thread?

Well, Im dead tired after going to the rugby game today. I came back and my wife is sitting next to me watching Real Housewives of NY, while I work on the rugby post. I saw that oregon won and came here to see what was up. I guess it was just good timing.

Oh man. What a relief.

Great game by the Ducks tonight.

storming the court?

I don’t care if you are 0-27. If you are 2 years removed from the elite 8 you don’t storm the court after a home win against an unranked team.

Eh. I personally wouldn’t have stormed the court, but after this season, I am just glad that the students have that much enthusiasm left for the team.

by ntrebon on Feb 21, 2009 7:12 PM PST up reply actions

yeah, good point

A lot of schools would have had an empty student section.

like a school forty miles to the north did last year.

wait, which?

Well, I know Wazzu stormed the field to after avoiding a winless Pac 10 season, I won’t hold the Ducks in any contempt.

In fact, congratulations! While I generally hold no particular love for Oregon athletics, I am glad to see you guys get a win and especially at home in front of the die hard fans who have stuck with the team all year. Also thanks for doing it against a team fighting with Wazzu for that critical 7th seed automatic win in the PX tourney…. um…. against probably you… I mean, great job guys.

The court hasn’t been stormed north of Eugene in sometime.

Im pumped we stormed

the team was so pumped and loved sharing the moment with the students. Its college basketball, storm it up.

you had to be there

there was no way you couldn’t storm the court. i have gone to almost all of their home games this year and those games only served to make this game feel special. the greatest thing about it was that the team generally cared. How many teams lose this many games and just give up? almost all of them. Crittle was having by far the best game of his career because he was out there working harder then ever. He was jumping around and livening up the crowd all game. Longmire you could tell really really wanted this game. the whole atmosphere was electric.

agree

Look at all the emotion we displayed at the end of the game. Of course they were going to storm the court. Seeing Dunigan in the middle of all the students, that’s just one small part of learning the winning mentality.

Word.

I would’ve stormed if I wasn’t in the Mezzanine.

I thought storming the court was a little over the top.

But it just shows where things are at. The players said it felt like winning a national championship I’m sure students and many fans will agree.

after going through the ups and downs (mostly downs) of the season

there was no way us students wouldnt storm the court. it was crazy!!

"I think people in this state like BOTH teams," proclaims Nick Aliotti, the Ducks' defensive coordinator. "Except for our hard-core fans, I don't think most Duck fans would have been terribly upset to see Oregon State going to the Rose Bowl."

Another reason he needs to go.

We won!

It’s great to see not only the excitement of the fans, but the players and coaching staff. I hope that this will lead to some more victories this season, but more important, into next season. This team can compete in the Pac-10, but it must be with passion and discipline.

by one game. my deepest and most heartfelt congrats! seriously though, losing that much sucks. just ask me.

by ArbyOSU on Feb 23, 2009 4:54 PM PST up reply actions

Well...

Oregon’s point differential in Pac-10 games this season is -13.4, while OSU’s last year was -19.6. Even if Oregon had lost every game, they wouldn’t be near as bad as last years OSU team.

Though,

We’re still ridiculously underachieving, no less.

better than osu

LAST year, which has come and gone. The win was great, and It looks like free throws
and scoring balance pulled this one out for us. Finally a flicker of hope that osu won’t get the sweep this yr.
