[UPDATE] - dvieira: Bumping this to the top since Q beat me to it. Now that I'm through changing his post around, here is your open thread for the game. Chip Kelly throwing out the first pitch today at PK Park. Let's hope we don't get killed and welcome back Civil War Baseball after 28 years! Oregon State comes in hitting the cover off the ball. The Ducks, not so much. I'm hoping we can keep this one close

Sorry, just trying to do my part. Honestly I hated duck baseball more before they started playing. I WOULD get annoyed if they started whooping us with regularity… but I have confidence my Beavs won’t let that happen.

I think that as soon as UO gets competitive and can hang (whether its this year or in the future), us Beaver fans will quickly turn against them.
Right now, it’s kinda hard to get mad at Oregon, even though I still hate them. Hell, I hate Oregon’s track team and we don’t even have one

CWS in 5 years for UO?
I would be SHOCKED if they got close. The tourney isn’t out of the question, but the Pac-10 is so deep, I’d be surprised.

That is the expectation George Horton has expressed. Quite honestly, I’m with you but hey. He has been there before. Maybe it isn’t farfetched. We’ve already won more games than I thought we would

No doubt George Horton is a great coach
And Oregon has some top notch facilities. But thanks to Phil Knight, before Oregon decided to bring baseball back, he hooked OSU up with some pretty top notch baseball facilities too. It’ll take time and I’m sure Oregon will get there eventually, but that is saying that in 5 years, they will be one of the top 8 teams in the country. Not easy for a new program

Not going to lie, I'm surprised at how fundamental Oregon is
Horton is a great coach and it shouldn’t surprise, but with so many new players to D1 Pac10 baseball, they are very fundamentally sound
