Bellotti to coach QBs this spring
The athletic department has issued a twitter stating that Bellotti will coach QBs this spring. Not sure how I feel about this. If it is only temporary for this spring until a permanent replacement can be found, then this makes sense. However, if Bellotti is coaching QBs come the fall, then this is just ... bizzare.
Update [by ntrebon]: Moseley has his thoughts up on the move. Also, Bryson Littlejohn will be enrolled and participating in spring drills.

Hmmm...

Alright, this twitter thing has gotten even stupider
than its originally stupid concept. This is no different than blurting something out and running out of the room before anybody can ask questions.
Well, it is from the official goducks.com twitter...

Then it's like
Kilkenny sticking his head in the room, saying, “By the way, Bellotti’s gonna be QB coach” and sprinting down the hall.
imagining that is awesome btw.

It makes sense. Chip has mentioned in the past that if Oregon didn’t take the time to provide a national search for the right person, they may not have gone out and found him at NH. Bellotti still has the whole “special assistant to the AD” thing going and it keeps him involved until he officially takes over in that role. I don’t see how this could be a bad thing at all

If that is what he's saying, I can vouch.

I disagree completely with this statement. Not only was it said by an arrogant ass, but one who was wearing a hat….an asshat if you will. Why this person is aloud to even post his thoughts his beyond me.

I predict
2 or 3 years from now Chip Kelly takes Oregon to some BCS bowls and heads to the NFL (prob. the Chargers), then Bellotti bored of being the A.D. again takes over as head coach leading Oregon to 10 consecutive national championship games and winning 8 of them. After that time Oregon is ruled “too good” for NCAA and is the first university to become a pro team. In there first season, the Ducks (with MB) face Chip’s Chargers in the Super Bowl.
Oregon Ducks- NCAA Cross Country Champions 2008! and a Basketball Pac-10 WIN.
Unlikely that they would only win 8 of 10 NCs…. Didn’t you watch the South Florida game???

Oh and obviously
in the 49th OT of the super bowl Chip Kelley’s Dennis Dixon runs in for the game winning touchdown on a fake statue of liberty.

But then the touchdown is called back for excessive celebration, thanks to Bellotti’s own rules.
JAI HO!
They’ve implemented that famous A-11 defense.

is it just me
or is 14 years a long time to be an NFL QB?? And yes, that is the biggest problem I have with this most amazing situation that is going to unfold.
Ducks Go!
Already miss you MB
Here's the official announcement..
Bellotti seems to be fine with it.

I think I’m pretty cool with this. Mike B’s recent work with the Oregon kickers – which seemed to result in improvements in accuracy and consistency – suggests to me he’s good at focusing on individual technique (not to mention his role as a QB coach years ago). I could see Masoli, Thomas and Ropert all making some strides in the areas of passing technique and decision making under direct supervision of Bellotti.
Do we know if Bill Musgrave interviewed with Chip Kelly? If so, I’m mildly disappointed that he apparent isn’t the guy.
You cannot hide from our weapons of Masoli destruction.
I wonder if Bellotti will take another look at Whitesleeves as a QB.
As deep and young as we are at QB, I just can’t yet abandon the pipe dream that Chris Harper developing an arm would be the most unstoppable thing ever known to college football.

I dunno, Billy M
is more of the old school West Coast Offense, isn’t he? Seems like offensive philosophies would differ.
