The best uniform combos of 2008 part 1

i.e. White/white/green/white, (Purdue 08, UCLA 07.)

Also, the SC and Beaver combos were slightly different in that the shoes/socks were white and black, respectively, which is a slight but significant difference when seen.

Not to bring the post down at all, nice pictures.

We should only wear a non-green helmet with one particular uniform combo, like white only for the all-white Stormtrooper look, and black only for the Blackout look. If we cut down to only these combinations, I’d be okay"
ROAD
G-W-G – the road uniform. end of story.
W-W-W – once a year, for Husky or Beaver games most likely.

HOME
G-G-G – the default look.
G-Y-G – once a year, maybe a Husky game
G-G-Y – once a year, maybe twice if Civil War and I Hate Washington Day are on the road.
G-Y-Y – Home Civil War
B-B-B – Non-Civil War Senior Day only

Things we can retire:
Grellow helmets: I do not need to elaborate on this. Our only win in them is against Utah St. Let’s just move on.

Black or yellow pants on the road: The white jersey is green and white. Any other pants but green and white look mismatched. See the Dixon Apocalypse and last year’s ASU game. No mas por favor.

Black unis for anything but a Blackout game: Any uniform combo that looks good with a black jersey or pants looks just as good with green, and green is a school color. I enjoy the G-G-B combo, and the G-B-B look, but why not save the black for a special occasion? It’ll be like the tuxedo of the Oregon football wardrobe.

Having all the combinations is nice, but why not wear the ones that work instead of wearing new combinations just to wear them? I understand innovation is our tradition, but there’s a limit.

This comment will probably be rendered moot when Uncle Phil debuts a new kit.

You are missing the best uniform combination from 2008 in your list. By far, the peeled banana look was the best

Is that these uni pics only span HALF OF THIS YEAR. I’m excited for all the posts going back 10+ years.

But we are in agreement, the WSU unis are the best.

My favorite is the Utah St combo, but not in real life just this post. In that picture it looks like The Sleeve is sporting the yellow helmet and not a Grellow helmet. I think we could have done a lot better with the yellow, but i think we should just kill it now.

I like the Wazzu and Purdue games the best, and I cant wait till the second half.

I’m on a crusade to get rid of that. Always have been, always will be.

The yellow helmets, too. They’re pretty terrible and never – ever – look very good.

My favorite combo so far is the White/White/Green or Green/White/Green. Call me old-fashioned. Green/Yellow/Green is probably my absolute favorite though.

This thread is already falling behind the times. Now we have silver helmets.

I liked both the green pants away uniform combos a lot..

As for the home combos – out of these sets, I like the opener, all green look.

I was thinking about doing a post of my top outfits to wear while watching the football games.
