Do you think the sound of that annoying, giggling dog from Duck Hunt will be ringing in the ears of Crittle, Dunigan and Williams while they're fulfilling their community service obligation? Man, I really hated that dog. I don't think I'd wish that on anyone, even an animal-killing sadist. Okay, maybe Ron Mexico. But that's it. Anyway, here's your fix:
- In case you haven't heard, the athletic department announced yesterday that head coach Ernie Kent has assigned community service to Josh Crittle, Michael Dunigan and Teondre Williams as part of their punishment for the Duck Hunt incident on March 30. The three freshman have already started working at Greenhill Humane Society in Eugene. They'll also be required to attend a Humane Education class. What do you think about the punishment?
- Despite racking up a season-high 14 hits, the Oregon baseball squad dropped their sixth straight in an 8-7 loss to Portland yesterday at PK Park. The Ducks will try to regroup on the road this weekend when they take on Cal in a three-game series in Berkeley starting Friday.
- Finally, the Daily Emerald's Andrew Greif talks about Oregon's impressive depth at tight end. With Dion Jordan, David Paulson, Malachi Lewis and Mychal Rivera all turning heads in spring practice, not to mention returning starter Ed Dickson, who's currently sitting out of contact drills with a strained hamstring, this unit could end up being the Ducks' strongest with the exception of quarterback.
