We’re definitely going to score on that play. Quick pass in the flat to A, B and LB gets their blocks on the corner and strong safety, A just needs to stiff-arm the safety along the sideline – it’s the Beavs so you know the safety won’t make that tackle – and seal the deal.

Hmmm…that’s the weakside LB waiting for JM if he scrambles left. It is possible our RB, having executed his fake, could bolt through the hole and get a piece of the backer. That would be money.

I don’t like that we’re only ranked #23. Though I see the Beavs are not ranked at all. Boo on all of that, as I firmly believe at least the next two Civil Wars will be a battle of two ranked teams.

In my scenario said backer is not fast enough to get to Masoli before he sneaks around the block by x. I like the idea of Blount laying down block for his QB after his fake. A play action, pass fake, designed QB run? If only we had an innovative, offensive minded coach…

About the rankings

I would say that because Oregon is slated to be in the top 10 next year, and because OSU is slated for a preseason top 25, the preseason rankings probably aren’t finished yet. There is still two months until the game comes out.

Other things to notice

Fans are intermingled instead of being purely segregated as they were last year. Oregon fans are now green AND yellow

New in game “scoreboard”

The “+5 Strategy” if for season showdown. basically if you pick Oregon has your team then everything you do can earn you points for their status online. To include successful pregame planning which is also a new feature this year.

Green on Green on Green an new uniform combo this year (last year was green on black). There should also be an alternate helmet but it’s yet to be unveiled.

Sounds like a must-get game. I like the notion of a pregame planning aspect. Maybe they’re putting some emphasis on scouting an opponent?

that's why you pick a conference that's fairly even that no one has rooting interest in

we tried one with the ACC last year, and was competative when we finally got around to playing games

the other way to do it is (and if you have six guys it works great) is to pick one school in each BCS conference, schedule each other in non-conference, and then meet again in the BCS bowls once all of you win conference championships.
