Your Bi-Annual Nostalgic ATQ post
Well guys, here it is again.
I had a long day and night and decided to cruise some old ATQ threads. The Civil War thread(s), and others from earlier this and last football season. It was one of those throwbacks that you can't help but grin to.
I'm very, very proud of this bustling community. ATQ is what I get up in the morning to. I don't jump to any site quicker than this one here. Not Facebook, The Onion... not even CGB!
I've met and talked with many, many fascinating and intelligent gents that I otherwise would likely have never crossed paths with.
Jared - a ringleader whose, get this, dad went to elementary school with my mom.
And there's Dom n' Sherrie, who've bought my posse and I Jones Sodas so we'd feel welcome at the get-togethers. Two extremely generous people that I absolutely love watching a game with, (as long as it has the proper Ropert quotient.)
There's JConant/SeattleQuacker/Jer Bear... whatever you call him, he's the tremendously friendly and personable guy that I've founded a solid friendship with (Axemen for life yo.)
And there's Shufelt. Who... yeah... there's Shufelt.
And there's Brad. A guy who I've never have had the pleasure to meet, but hope to someday - likely when I'm of drinking age. I've heard he's a demon on PS2 NCAA games, and word is Nick's afraid to play him. And, well, to be particular, made me literally laugh for 15 minutes after reading some of his Chip Kelly facts submissions.
The Wyld Stallyns... Tako and Kyle. Somehow I've evaded meeting you guys, though I hear Kyle smells like Elmer's glue and self-loathing. Really though, two distinct personalities whose innuendoes have been really, really fun to witness.
Gotta love your beaver brothers too... VD, such a classy guy. A great diplomat from the dark side, always being fair. And for chrissakes, his balls have gone permafrost. Arby (ArbyOSU), who'd been especially helpful in my search for constructive criticism for my band - seems slightly the geek that claims to have a wife though I'm skeptical. Balls ---> busted. Connor (formerly known as just OSU), who's only moseyed over here occasionally but has been very fun to talk to at BtD as well.
And, of course, Dave. The godfather. The man, the myth, the legend. I owe my still being here to this guy. I joined the old SBN 1.0-version ATQ in 2006 around the Oklahoma game. Dave wrote the majority of the posts back then and really held it all together. Him, Jared, Brad, and one "astroman" are the only names I can quite recall from way back when, though I remember really, really liking the community that had been blooming on this blog platform I had previously never heard of.
But, you know, really, the whole of this place is 1000 times more than the sum of the parts. It is not the largest community in SBN, but is one of the brightest, friendliest, and most respected societies in the college blogosphere. I cannot stress how awesome it has been being a part of this, falling comfortably into this college sports Constantinople.
...I wuv you guys!

You've got it backwards
I reek of self-loathing. T-Duck just reeks. Like bad. This guy showers once a week tops.
It's spelled "T-A-K-I-M-O-T-S-C-H-M-O-E."

Hey...
I got screwed on the Jones Soda provisions at the ATQ tent. All Dom ’n Sherri did was bring a bunch of yummy snacks, BBQ some awesome chicken, provide some Johnnie Walker, bring family along to keep things fun and pull the whole thing together.
I'm really tired of it not being football season.
if you can’t say anything nice, dont say anything at all?

Random Question
Does anyone know how the ESPN gameplan works? I’m considering getting it this year but I thought I heard somewhere that the Oregon games that are on Comcast are blacked out.
True?
Anyone?
Bueller?

OSN games weren’t on Gameplan last year due to the Pac-10/FSN contract. Any game on the ESPN networks, however, will be on gameplan.

I got it last year
but I don’t think it’s really worth it, because it only shows like 1-2 goodish games a week and it costs $129.

You're right on two counts--I'm kind've a nerd and I'm definitely married.
Believe me—you’ll know when it happens. Suddenly you start wearing a ring and “get” to share your money… sigh…
"The brownies,'' Fernandez said after the game. "The brownies are good for me to make three-points.''
