Morning Quack Fix: Baby Please Don't Go!
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. My name is dvieira. I come from a rough area. I used to be addicted to quack, but now I'm off and trying to stay clean. That is why I'm selling magazine subscriptions and I was hoping that you could help me out by reading the following notes and commenting in the comments section. Bah, who am I kidding. Quack for everyone!
- John Hunt has interesting article discussing Justin Roper's reasons for transferring. Roper explains that he started thinking about it towards the end of the 2008 season. Originally from Georgia, he would ideally want to move back there to be close to family. Jtlight will have more about Justin Roper and the impact his decision will have on the program later today.
- The Chris Harper decision to transfer is making waves all over the place. Goducks.com has the official release. The best piece is by the always great Rob Moseley, who handles both the specifics of the release, as well as the supposed program upheavel. Ever the voice of reason, ATQ was telling us all to take deep breaths about this yesterday.
- Chip Kelly is talking about the departures in the program but doesn't sound too worried. "I'm a wily, experienced veteran when it comes to losing quarterbacks" - Chip Kelly
- The University of Oregon Athletic Department announced its annual Student-Athlete Awards on Tuesday. The awards were voted on by UO administrators and support staff.
- In the neverending effort by bloggers to fill content during late Spring and early Summer, Ted Miller of ESPN has an article up discussing the areas of need Pac-10 teams face heading into Summer. Any guesses what it might be? I'll give you a hint...It starts with "O" and ends with "dash line"
- The Oregon Ducks baseball season is mercifully over. I know we didn't expect much this season but the results were not pretty.
- Rivals.com post spring power rankings is up for your fun and amusement. Masoli comes in at #12 among QBs. For Running Backs, check out this from the Pac-10: #1 Jahvid Best, #4 Jacquizz Rodgers, #5 LaGarrette Blount, #10 Toby Gerhart, #21 Nicolas Grigsby. The Pac-10 should be dominating people on the ground this year.
It wasn't much, but it should get you through the day. As always, post any links you find in the comments.
GO DUCKS!

Rickert has an overreactive post (yeah, what a shock I know). However, one note, is that he said another player could be transferring. Reading into Kelly’s comments last night, you could sort of get that feeling that some other players might be considering that. We’ll just have to wait and see how it shakes out.

I love this part
Because I believe there might be one more transfer on the horizon. Can’t confirm it yet so, I’m not going to write it up.
I’ve heard a rumor, but it’s still just a rumor, so I’m going to do the responsible thing and not write anything about it. Well, except for spreading the rumor.

Rivals Lists
Lots of top flight running backs but only four on the odashline. It will be hard for the big time RBs of the league to get going with out blocking. And we need big running numbers for the pac ten to get respect this year.

On baseball
Its a starting point, that’s all I’ll say, at least we’re back in the game. Give it a few more years and we’ll be competitive in the Pac-10 regularly..

Here’s a tweet from Jay Jones and the Writers Block this morning. Not surprised at all
Jeff Martin of the Wichita Eagle just said that he expects former Oregon QB/WR Chris Harper to go to Kansas St.

stop the presses
Have fun being a not very good QB who also lives in Kansas.

Oregon is going after 2 receivers. Keanon Lowe from Jesuit High in Portland, who looks like he could be a nice, quick slot receiver. The other, Trevon Reed from Lousiana will be visiting Oregon at an undecided date. He’s the 15th ranked 2010 player in the country, and #2 WR.

Rivals QB list
4 of the top 5 QB’s were from the Big 12. I wonder if thats because of skill or Big 12 defenses?

I'd say skills for most
Bradford and McCoy are surefire NFL talents, Zac Robinson has skills when he isn’t getting whomped by TJ Ward. The only one I’d really question is Todd Reesing, who I think is still getting hype from getting Kansas to a BCS bowl as a sophomore. I think I would have flip-flopped Reesing with Jevan Snead.

I think it should look like:
Tim Tebow
Sam Bradford
Colt McCoy
Jevan Snead
Zac Robinson

I call shenanigans on the fact that WT3 isn’t one of the 25 best D-Backs in the country.
