Lee Corso suffers minor stroke, expected to recover
On the good side, the article does say he is expected to be fine for the first GameDay of the year. This means that any last remnants of that Lou Holtz rumor can be put to rest. Thank goodness.

Whew
I like Corso. But I like Madden, too. I think they’re both competently goofball.

grimc – we may be in the vast minority, but I like both Corso and Madden as well. Their passion for the game works for me.
I'm really tired of it not being football season.

I like Corso...
Madden, not so much. But Corso seems to know what he does well, and he does that very well. He’s not big on analysis, but gets the big themes and pageantry of college football, down well.
Good luck to him, because he makes college football a better place.

Love
I love them both. Maybe I’m just a sucker for what I grew up with, but they are football.
PS Miss you Keith Jackson.

I can't imagine having Lou Holtz doing GameDay...

I probably wouldn’t watch it.

agreed
now if mark may were to replace herbstreit, then we’d be in business.

Come on…Herbstreit is good. He’s reasonable, and does a good job breaking down games. They both do what they do rather well.

i’m not necessarily saying herbie is a bad analyst, i prefer him over a lot of guys. i just think mark may brings more of a national objectivity to the table. plus he seems to like the ducks more. ;)

Yes he does
Herbie is a bit in the tank for the Big 10….

Eh...
I think that Herbie just gets a bad rap about that due to his stance on the 2006 national championship game debate, over an OSU/Michigan rematch, and OSU/Florida. He seemed to think the best two teams should play, and thought they were the best teams. At that point in the season, you can’t fault him for that view.

I’ll be honest… I think he’s not nearly in bed with Big-10/tOSU as much as people think.
He was one of the more sane people in the AP poll, and didn’t show a lot of bias in his ballot.

I would like May only if Holtz were on.
He calls Holtz out on his bullshit and does it well. It almost seems like May hates working with him sometimes. I like that about him!
Sadly, I don’t watch too much Game Day….Hangovers…
May we hand you your taints on a silver platter...

I hate Hotlz
Forget the ND stuff, that’s bad enough, his little bits like “pep talks” or “Dr. Lou” are so stupid…

Corso after a stroke will still be light years better than a healthy Lou Holtz

I liked the pep talks
I thought they were pretty funny. But Dr. Lou was the stupidest thing I’ve EVER seen.

Corso’s good. Always love that catch phrase, “not so fast, my friend”.

I guess I'm pretty indifferent on Corso.
Now, if Marques Johnson were to only start calling college football, that’d pull me in.

Marques Johnson?
Umm… no offense, but I don’t think he belongs on College Gameday, especially if he would replace Corso.
What’s fun about College Gameday is the environment, and atmosphere of it. It’s the only show that does a reasonably good job of capturing the feel of college football. Corso might not be the smartest analyst, but he’s the show’s catalyst between the analysis and the atmosphere.

No no, I didn't mean on Gameday.
I meant more like trading Steve Physioc and Marques for for Schmoe Schmiansante and Face Made for Radio Closs.
I’m indifferent on Corso and Herbstreit. Brad’s cool, but the show is fun to watch solely on that it kicks off those awesome fall Saturday mornings (at least, for me.)
