cal vs oregon

Whats up everyone! Just to let everyone know I am a Cal Fan through and through. However the Ducks would be my second favorite team. I am driving up from the bay area for this game and am very excited about it. I will be ariving friday morning and was wondering What the night life is like in eugene and what are the best places that I would need to hit up for a day trip in eugene. Thank you for your time and I can't wait for your suggestions

this is a good start. That is the last weekend before classes start, so I’m going to assume the night life is going to be crazy. Especially if we are undefeated, wear non cal clothes.

if I wear a “Go Pre” shirt, will this increase or decrease my chances of getting laid?

It will increase your chances of getting laid by 50-year-old women or a 23-year-old guy named Calvin.

I'm really tired of it not being football season.

Hit up the usual suspects..

Taylor’s/Rennie’s/Max’s are all good bars right on campus. Go to Taylor’s if you are a fan of slutty sorority girls (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?). Don’t stay at the Phoenix Inn whatever you do. Its a nice spot sure, but you will pay for that. Stay at one of the other hotels on Franklin. Oh, and don’t forget your earplugs. Memorial stadium and Autzen are very different places to be on a Satuday.

by SeattleDucks on Jun 10, 2009 12:06 PM PDT reply actions

screw the earplugs

bask in the frightening roar that is autzen stadium!

In terms of campus bars:
If you’re a douche: Tay-Tay’s
If you would rather sit down and have a beer instead of attempting date rape: Rennie’s
Same as Rennie’s but if you’re a hipster: Max’s

I actually like Max’s a lot: pub vibe, my roommate tends bar occasionally, $9 pitchers of the greatest beer on the planet ;)

So… you’re saying you’re a hipster?

And if he’s a Cal fan, I’m sure he’ll be at home at “Tay-Tay’s”…

Note: I went to Rennie’s once. It was OK. Not bad. The other two places? Being a Beav I’ve never heard of them. I spend my weekends at the Headline Cafe (kidding).

It'll actually be interesting to see

if the relationship will evolve if Oregon could ever BEAT Cal again. But I have a sneaking suspicion that Twist has sabotaged the last 3 games and is working on his next masterpiece.

My guess is the coaching connections have something to do with it. The fact that its not a natural rivalry also plays a part. And maybe because Cal and oregon sem to be in a perpetual battle for number 2 so it becomes if we can’t take down u$c then its better that the ducks do it over are natural rivals and vise versa

Like who else am I going to say. Aaron Corp? Canfield?

I didn’t say Jake Locker is a great passer, but I like him second to only Masoli in the Pac. Who would you say? Riley?

Twist and Rocks may be a bit late for the naked hippie bicycle parade through downtown Eugene. I know, because I witnessed it up close and personal last Saturday evening - while eating dinner - it was sushi - not the best dining experience.

That is hilarious

When I first moved to Portland I had no idea about the naked bike ride, so when I saw it out of nowhere it blew my mind. But I’m really glad I wasn’t eating a piece of Anago when I saw it.

Also didn’t know they do a nude skateboard ride too. What the hell is next? I guess just nude walking.
