I know I am likely wrong, but I am still looking forward to facing the Ducks

One major mistake I think is that you are comparing last year’s team and this year’s team. Masoli isn’t going to make it as easy for your defense because the one thing I’ve consistently said is that he’s been way better at reading and deciding the option than Roper ever was.
"It’s spelled S-H-U-F-E-L-T-M-E-U-P"
Very good point
I can’t remember, did Moseli come in when Roper got hurt against us? I know he didn’t have any stats, but it was late in the game and I remember Johnson and Blount pretty much finishing the thing.

I’m pretty sure he didn’t play at all. Harper came in after Roper’s injury and only ran running plays.

That's right
I still think it never should have gone to OT. It was a huge mistake to settle for a long field goal. The wind was just swirling all day in the stadium. I know Summer didn’t get his best kick off, but it would have been very tough even if he had hit it square. At the moment of the kick his was kicking across his body into a cross wind. At roughly 45 yards that’s probably about a 10% chance of making it.
Sadly, I think this game ruined the confidence he had built up for the rest of the season. We had a true freshman doing our placekicking by the Ohio State game and Summers was strictly punting.

Your defense did a great job that game, and the defensive coaching staff did a great job focusing on the run. Roper couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn in the game, and didn’t have the arm strength to throw the ball downfield and take advantage of that, let alone get through the wind.
But, in the end, you’re right. Oregon had no business being in that game, let alone winning it. With turnovers and not stopping the run (which was their strength last year), Oregon was incredibly lucky.

Nope.
It was only Harper and Blount in the OT drive.

You fail to remember this game is in Eugene
That’s worth at least a TD to us…

Your Prediction
A very good and well written peice my friend but cant at all agree with your prediction. Purdue is in that week two slot so either win or loss at Boise St on Sept 3rd the Boilermakers are getting Ducked Up.
I still am looking forward to this contest though. I am one of many who gave Purdue there respect and withdrew my “Ross-Aide to Bandade Stadium” comment from before the game.
The other point that SKYWAKER9 made was that this game is in Eugene this time and asside what anyone from the SEC claims…..Oregon is STILL the loudest and probably one of the more hostile places to play in the NCAA. With an almost completely new offense that Purdue will be flying in to compete against a defense that should be better than usuall for Oregon, I dont see it happening.
Oregon 50+ Purdue? (It will be one of those games)
It's cool
Like I said in the prediction, I am probably wrong, but I just have a really good feeling about the game. Either way, I am excited to come out and see Autzen. As a basketball freak, I REALLY want to see Mac Court as well. That gym looks awesome!

Damn the Blazers. Damn them to hell. - 'The Sports Guy' Bill Simmons
hehehehe
How about we settle for a near exact replay of last year’s game. I’ll take a very competitive double-OT loss as a much better sign than last year.
