I'm not sure I agree with either of your Pac standings

I think you’re both overselling some teams, and chronically underselling Stanford. This may be the year Harbaugh actually breaks ranks with Stanford. I expect them to possibly jump to 5th or so with some surprises.

I disagree with Pado in that I think Cal will not be a 10-win team, and I can’t see Connor’s ASU winning 6 conference games either.

Sigh, I may be a bummer too. Sorry! Good work on the rest of the list though. You could’ve skipped the ACC altogether though. I’m interested to see your guys’ thoughts on the SEC and Big XII.

Thanks!

I moved Stanford to 5th cause I have them beating both UCLA and ASU but I forgot to put that earlier. How many wins do you think Cal will have?

Eight, maybe.

I see them losing to Oregon, SC, OSU, and (yes, really) Stanford.

I agree that I think they will beat ASU but you can’t be so sure with UCLA. Every once in a while UCLA will play someone pretty tough and even squeeze out a win.

I'm overselling ASU a little

But I think they’re going to be pretty good this year. Stanford has to prove to me that they can finish in the upper half of the conference before I put them there.

Thanks for your comments.

True

I think Stanford’s different for some reason though. We’ll see who’s right in January.

A loss in conference.

Oregon is predicted here with a 10 win season. This is outstanding and if the one Pac-10 loss could be predicted I would give that flip to California. One thing I don’t want to happen more than anything else it to to have the other loss be to Boise St. I want the Ducks to win that game very baddly as do most fans I beleive. Just to say we did it.
Unfortunantly this means that the other loss would be to one of the other OOC schools; Utah and Purdue. Loosing to Purdue on opening day would be devistating. Another triple would be hard again. (Painters gone and so are many others with a not so good predicted 09’ – 10’ season.) Loosing this contest is not an option for Kelly.
Utah would be in Eugene and hopefully will play comparable to Utah St.(last year).
So the next question is can the Ducks truly do it this year and have a special season and win the Pac-10? Rosebowl?
Oregon will compete for the “1” spot and my game is on week 4. Cal @ Oregon. Again. Another game where grudge is involed due to Oregons’ tear-jerking loss to the Bears in 07’ This game will be intense(Purdue could be the loss if we stick to that matter. Botheresome and unpredictale.)
. I wish Masoli would have broke out of his shell in Cal last year. Great game. Loosing 3 in a row wouldnt be anything less than a slap in the bill.
The consideration: Will the young O and D lines be up for the challenging opposing lines of the conference they play every year. The Ducks usually have performed up to expections but with talent gone it has to be considered until Oregon gets past Boise St. Sept, 3rd. That should be a good day if the line performes respectably.

Good Luck Oregon

I've got them losing

To Boise State and USC. Both games will be close but I don’t see them pulling it out, especially on the Smurf Turf. The Cal game is going to be interesting, but I think Oregon will be wanting revenge from last year. The Ducks aren’t going to lose to Purdue. The Boilermakers are going to have a bad year and will get thrased when they come to Autzen.

The Utah game should be good, but once again, the Autzen Stadium crowd should be too tough for the Utes to handle.

Pittsburgh

I have a hard time seeing Pittsburgh winning the Big East particularly without LeSean McCoy.

Either them or West Virginia

I like Pittsburgh because of Dave Wannstedt.

This is true.

Anyone who can’t get his offense to score a touchdown with Lesean McCoy in the backfield isn’t a good coach in my book.

"The brownies,'' Fernandez said after the game. "The brownies are good for me to make three-points.''

That too.

But McCoy was a legit back and they were SUPPOSED to be a pretty potent offense, missing next to no one as far as starters go…

it didn’t seem like spectacular defense to me. It felt more like jailbreak-style offensive lines more than good defense…on both sides of the ball. Both teams were busting through the lines with reckless abandon
