Places to Watch the Boise State Game
I'm going to be in Las Vegas for the Boise State game next week. Does anyone know a good "Duck-friendly" place to watch the game? Where is everyone else watching this first game?
I know the Chicago fans have their gathering places. Are there going to be any gathering spots in the Portland area? How about other areas? Where are the Boise State fans that are reading Addicted to Quack planning to gather? I will be representing in Vegas...I'm going to be there for 5 days, and I'm brining 5 jerseys with me (Joey Harrington, P-Chung white, JJ green, J-Stew black, Blount from Arizona blackout game).
Let everyone know in comments where you are going to watch the game and where to find fellow fans on game day.

If you’re going to be in vegas…you gonna put any money on the game?
Also, here is all the list of alumni endorsed watch parties…
Myself and the rest of the Chicago gang will be at Witt’s.

I am absolutely putting money on the game. The latest lines I’ve seen is BSU as a 5 or 5.5 point favorite. I’ll be jumping on that for sure.
Thanks for that list!

You gonna take the points, or go for the straight up win? I would jump all over the 160-175.

Straight up win! Even at 160 I really like it. The thing is, I feel like if we play well enough to cover the points, we’ll probably end up winning anyway. Go big or stay home.

So it’s back to Witt’s this year? Will there be anything Duck specific for the games? Or they’ll just have the games on?

There will be a few surprises for the Boise State game
I believe Witt’s will offer an Oregon microbrew, and the UOAA kicked in some goodies for a raffle, and some decorations.
We actually looked into a couple of other bars, but the main issue is all the night games. Most bars in Chicago are not willing to deviate from their usual Saturday night activities just so a bunch of quacker backers can watch some west coast football game. Witt’s has committed to showing all the Oregon games regardless of the kickoff time.

I just heard on the radio that 95.5 The Game is having a viewing party at Spirit Mountain Casino as well. The new sports bar out there is pretty sweet, with lots of flat screens, a huge projection tv, and really good food (excellent burgers).

I will be at The Tavern, in Austin, TX
Where I always go, since my wife is as interested in watching grass grow as watching football. Also, I like beer. Oh, and it’s the greatest bar known to man.

Emo’s is definitely a whole different variety, like it as well, great for shows.
“The Tavern” (yup, that’s the name, keep it simple) is my favorite sports bar, anywhere, even without any recognizable Duck contingent. Laid back, friendly, classic college sports bar. Feels to me like fans have been going there for 50yrs.

Portland Bars?
I’m a HUGE Duck fan in Portland (Souteast, to be exact). I used to watch all the games here at home with my dad; our TV isn’t huge and the sound isn’t great but we had a awesome time putting on our Ducks gear and cheering together. He passed away six months ago and it just won’t be the same sitting in the living room without him.
Does anyone know of a good bar in the Portland area? I want a good view of the screen, and I don’t drink so I’m concerned with the company and view, not the tap. I watched the last Huskies game at a little bar on the coast and it was awful; tiny TV’s, quiet sound, no good seating. I don’t want to do that again!
Any suggestions for a Duck-friendly venue? I need somebody to high-five with the first time Masoli trucks a hapless DB.

My favorite was Claudias
30th and Hawthorne – huge fanbase, gets crowded, get there early to get a good seat… but it’s loud and fun once you’re there.
by Bill Musgrave on Aug 25, 2009 5:33 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
That's what I was going to suggest too!
But it does get insanely crowded. Go early if you want not only a good seat but a seat in general.
by djp on Aug 25, 2009 8:38 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Wow!
There are so many choices, how am I ever going to pick one? I don’t go out to sports bars very often so I’m not hip to the wildest places. Should I plan on getting there an hour before kickoff to land a decent seat?
I’m playing with a band at Mcadams on Friday so I’ll have a chance to check the place out. Maybe I’ll swing by Claudias this weekend to see what it looks like, too. I can’t wait for the 3rd!!

If you go to Claudia's, go at least an hour early
unless you don’t mind standing all game, which can be fun too, bar will be very much duck friendly

PDX Area
Buffalo Wild Wings, both downtown and at Tanasbourne, are good places to watch Duck games. I go to the one at Tanasbourne for a lot of the games and there are always a ton of Duck fans in there.
Last year I watched the WSU game at Macadam’s Bar and Grill. They take one section of the bar and do it up in all Duck colors, logos, etc. It’s a nice bar, good environment, friendly staff.
For anyone that is on the coast, I watched the CW last year at Bedrock’s Pizzeria in Reedsport. We went to the dunes for Thanksgiving and came into town for the game. I didn’t know before hand, but the owner is Duck Alumni and went over the top with the CW viewing party (he bought roses, painted them orange and black, and ran around picking pedals off the rose each time we scored or stopped them). If you’re ever in that area I’d highly recommend stopping there for the game.

Buffalo Wild Wings = AMAZING.
There’s one also open near the airport, by the shopping center. opposite of Ikea.
Go there for a Thursday night game, and it’s cheap wing night too.

BWW
I have to admit I do like Buffalo Wild Wings. The food is good and the atmosphere is usually great. The only things I don’t like are:
1. Wooden seats for a full football game are uncomfortable
2. If you don’t get there well before kickoff, you might never get a seat
3. It gets spendy
4. I’ve watched the Cal games the past 2 years, the USC game last year, and the Dixon Arizona game there…I feel a jinx

Hmm… the seats at the airport one never struck me as uncomfortable.
But yes, if you are there watching a full sporting event, it does get expensive.
I definitely share sentiments 1 and 2.

On Deck or Blitz (East side)
On Deck (Pearl) is good for big games when they bust out the giant tent outside. watched the Holiday Bowl there last year.
Blitz on the east side (11th and Sherman i think) has plenty of room and TV’s. watched CW there last year.
winning big games = bar is more fun.

The Agency
I hear a lot of good things about The Agency Ultra Sport Lounge. Apparently they have all the games, give you a remote with DVR so you can control your TV, and have laptops, wii’s, and PS3’s. Not sure how well the DVR deal would work if there’s a bunch of people watching your game since their reaction will give away what’s coming up, but it’s a cool concept nonetheless.

Spot in Vegas for DUCK FRIENDLY!
I just moved back to Oregon from Vegas. There is a bar on Warm Springs & Durango in the SW that was always Duck Friendly. It was on the East side of Durango and on the North side of the street on warm springs. Its just east of the St. Rose Dominican Hospital on Warmsprings. Sorry I dont know the name. Welcome....
Sport at Fischer plaza (north of dowtown in the seattle center area. Its where the Grey’s Anatomy outdoor Seattle shots are filmed, not that I watch that or anything) is the official UO Alumni watching spot (there is a link to the site on this thread somewhere). IMO, terrible name for a sports bar, but nice place. Its got quite a few HDTVs hanging up around the place and every booth has their own 13" or so TV. Cane’s in Mission Beach is where the Alumni go. Great place, but not a sports bar and not very many LCDs or Plasmas. Mostly, old analog TVs.
In East Count (El Cajon) the El Cajon Grand will have it on at least half of the 8 TVs. Maybe all since I control the remote :-) All 42" LCD. Plus there is a patio.

I’m driving out there that Thursday, I anticipate being in Boise around 3:00. I’m also with someone that is a few months shy of 21, so we won’t be going to any bar.
Within walking distance of the stadium, I see a few restaurants that might be worth hitting.
Pie Hole, I think I’ve heard the guys at OBNUG talk about it. Pizza place.
There’s also a Chili’s, a place called “End Zone”, which looks to be the local watering hole (Google Street View doesn’t make it look to be a great place), Taco Del Mar, and RAM.

I know everywhere in town is going to be blowing up, but what are the best spots to catch an away game in the city of Eugene? I just moved into a new house and I don’t think we can get cable before the game. seems like most my friends are TV-less hippies and stuff.
what is the best place for games? Good times? Quackers? TayTays? I’d prefer somewhere I can easily get drinks and have a good time without too many douches. any suggestions?

1) The $1 tap beers are pounders
2) Half time entertainment bikini bull riding (Big crowd he sez)
3) Say AtQ and he’ll direct you to the power recliners or the 7 footer, your choice
4) Cosco brats $1.50, other food specials
5) any game not shown on TV (later in the season) he’ll get it
Ask for Kelly if a problem arises

Anybody in New Orleans?
Anybody watching the game at a sports bar in NOLA? I’m thinking about heading over to Cooter Browns – 50 beers on tap isn’t bad for the South.

50 beers on tap isn't bad for anywhere
Are there enough Duck Highlights on Youtube to watch for 7 day straight??

This is why I love the South, the bar is called “Cooter Browns” and that doesn’t even seem wrong.

The ATL
Any other Ducks in this area? I’ve run into a couple around Atlanta but was wondering if there was a spot that I’m not aware of.
ATL’s gotta get to work and get this together for next season. No more watching the Ducks at home, in my basement, drinking by myself!

Rest assured… while nobody will be with you, you are definitely not drinking by yourself.

JarHead Duck This has been a fun blog, thanx, AND,
Perhaps you ought to take your Herman Ho Ching jersey in case you need an excuse for dropping your ‘beeverage.’

I think its Jeron Johnson who just said that “Boise is still the underdog and that the national media doesn’t really think that they can do it two years in a row”
